Didn't you used to get a little drop down when you hovered over a persons name? Nothing seems obvious to me as to how to message somebody off the general page. Can't see this anywhere? Help!
Are you on a laptop/PC or a mobile device? On a laptop it's click the person's name in green, top RH corner, click connect button, Then you have to be connected to them already to PM, so either "Request Friendship" or "Send PM".
On a phone, open-up recipient's profile page, then click the large green plus (+) and "send a private message" on the pop-up menu.
