Hi everyone, gardeners and non gardeners alike. I love this time of year when my Japanese cherry tree is in full bloom. Unfortunately I can't get it all in the screen!

Beside the cherry tree is my favourite Chinese or Chusan palm. It's a wonderful specimen at any time of year

There are a few others to come throughout the year.

I'd like to see your favourite specimens, big or small

Take care and stay safe everyone

So you appreciate me then Ms Ellie?

  • Wow that is beautiful. I love this time of the year when everything is starting to bloom. I’m not so happy with the hayfever though x

  • Ted I am so sorry about the situation you are in with this awful knotweed. My heart really goes out to you and Mrs T for what you are going through. There are a lot of things in life which are just so unfair, and this is at the top of that list x

Kind of you to say Chelle but everyone on here is in a far worse position. Cancer or knotweed, I know what I and everyone else on here would choose.

I am stopping going on about it. Finito!Well

The dreaded weed is pervasive most places now thanks to those damn victorians thinking it looked nice by their ponds,  I live with a wooded embankment at the bottom of the garden, and it is present there - 2 neighbours have both made efforts to rid of it from behin their gardens, and seem to have been succesful - just by spraying yearly ( nasty stuff though those chemicals) I think the total horror stories about it have been slightly disproved over the years, so take heart, it wont invade your house and eat you after all. It is a facinating plant - feels like you can literally watch it grow over a few hours. But upwards usually, not outwards.

You are made of sterner stuff than to let a green thug make you despair.

  • I wish we also had a laughing reaction button, because your green thug description of the knotweed did make me laugh x
