An idea, I hope with some merit.

Our lives revolve around blood tests, scans etc. People do post that they have a scan in two weeks or whatever, everyone reading the post thinks 'I must ask after this' then the dates get lost or the memory fails.

We are all desperately worried and interested or just nosy about these results so we can discuss or sympathise or support.

How about posting your results on the day or the next day when they are received? You can still post advanced plans but this way everyone is current.

I think its a great idea but I do have an inflated sense of my own importance. This could be my swansong legacy when I get thrown off for using grammar after my name! Mind you, I'm not doing that anymore.

  • Brilliant Salis, how can a consultant expect you to put off going down the pub? They are not in the real world.

    Just great news. Xx

  • Who did you get insurance through?

  • Insurancewith dot com, they were recommended on the travel insurance thread. They won't cover my possible carpal tunnel syndrome, but they will cover the cancer! Other insurers would cover me but not for cancer, which I didn't want to risk.

  • Morning all

Had a call from my Oncologist yesterday and it was good news. After 3 chemotherapy sessions my tumour masses have reduced significantly and the lesions on my liver and spleen have gone down by nearly 50%. I was over the moon.

Will continue with the next 3 cycles as I'm coping ok (next this Friday) then have a short break before we discuss the route forward, whether more chemo or alternative treatments.

The wait for this news has been gut-wrenching but at least I've got a bit more hope I'll be around for longer than I thought I'd be last November. The transition to knowing I'm incurable was hard to take in but I know I can live with this little bugger on my terms! My aim now is to join the Stable Mabel group - 5 years!

    Hugs to all, Barb xx

I get my results on 18th via a telephone call with the oncologist.

Hi Barbs, that’s amazing news, well done. I bet the waiting was hideous, but great to get some good news.
