I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X

saw this and was amused by the paintings
I've been fiddling about putting together a few Christmas card ideas in case any of you feel tempted to try your hand at some home-made cards - always appreciated by any recipiant as they are so personal. So the following examples are simply based on the idea of sending love with the motif used - the heart - an easy one to draw or cut out. Christmas tree shapes are also easy to draw or paint and I'm sure you can think of others.
I've used what I had hanging about. Bits of fabric, cardboard packaging, string, coloured paper, tissue etc. I stuck them onto pieces of card [cereal box] , then scanned them into the computer and played about with Photoshop. Alternatively you can just trim them and send them as they are as one-offs, and write your message on the back. However, if you can photograph them with your phone and download them to a photo app. then you can add your text and then send them as e-cards if you want to.
If you'd like to actually use any of these designs, feel free to download them and print them out onto a postcard or in any way you wish. The rectangular ones are on a 5 x 7 template that will go to 6 x 4 if required. I hope you'll have a go and if you do I'm sure your family will treasure the results.
Sending love to you all from Rainie x
