Hi everyone, I don't post much as I never feel I have much to offer. But i would like to ask a question . I have untreatable bilateral lung cancer. I don't appear to have any symptoms (I have plenty for my other maladies) I have applied for attendance allowance on advice from my gp (she brought me the DS1500 form) That seems to imply she thinks my time is limited. As I live alone I feel the need to get my affairs in order as much as possible. I always thought doctors won't ever give a prognosis, but is that true? Thanks for reading.

See your point. Good one.
I’ve never had a tattoo, I’m hoping I can show them an idea and then they can design it out for me first.
I need to find out if I’m allowed to do this on chemo though or how long after I have to wait.
Take care guys,
Rameses.
Hi, I don't want to be a killjoy but now when you go for a scan they ask if you have any tattoos because some of them contain metal, so worth asking your nurse what kind you could get.
Im sure you will find a suitable design. Will you have it where it is easily seen, arms, legs, hands etc or somewhere not often seen, like your back or hips etc?

No, it’s a good point. Happy for you guys to offer advice, that’s why I’m on here. I need to find out if I’m allowed to have one and how it works with chemo as I don’t want to risk any infection or anything.
I could do with finding out more about what I’m actually taking as I guess there are lots of variants.
Take care guys,
Rameses.
Yes there are so many different drugs now, you should have a note of the one you are taking.
I was asked if I had any metal in my body, I told them I had a replacement knee, a pin from shoulder to elbow and a plate in my spine. Then he asked if I had any unseen body piercings or tattoos. I said no but asked why. He explained that some tattoos had metal in them and they needed to cover them up if you were having a scan and it was the same for piercings. With the tattoos, it was something to do with the ink or paint they used! Now you know, you can hopefully avoid them!

Wow. Didn’t know that. Avoid scans eh?
I will definitely y find out a lot more about it first in case it buggers up my treatment but the more I think about it, the more I want one. Might be an age thing for us 60 year old blokes. Who knows.
I was always against them. My eldest daughter had a small one done on her hand years ago. Typical over reactive Dad, I went full on ballistic mode to which she just said “Dad, at 25, I’m an adult and it’s my choice”. She had a fair point.
What I didn’t know was that her younger sister had a full shoulder to thigh piece of body art that she had hidden from me for 3 years and only told me because it was going to be visible when she wore her wedding dress.
Take care guys,
Rameses.
