I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.
So
1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.
2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.
3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.
I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

That was lucky. Don’t beat yourself up about it. We all make mistakes x

Well three good things is a bit of a big one today
1. today is my 2nd cancerversary. Two years ago today I was told my cancer was back and was now incurable, I’m still here
2. 13 months ago I had two bars put in my spine and 11 months ago they took out 2 vertebrae and put a cage in their place both ops have a 12 month recovery I had both in two months and 11 months later I am almost fully recovered
3. 11 months ago I couldn’t walk unaided. So far this month I have done 104,000 steps nearly 5000 a day on average all totally unaided
two years ago today I thought I had 12 weeks to live i am pleased to say I was hopelessly wrong, long may it continue
Richard
be safe, be nice, be you
That's the best 3 good things Richard. x
Glad the car was fine OBS, I love a walk in Ecclesall Woods, but I'm more often to be found in the smaller Gillfield woods in Totley, I had a lovely cool walk there this evening, thats my first good thing. Second - we had a successful trial of our VW van, the bed my OH made was great. Third our tomato plants survived our absence despite us failing to ask the neighbours to water them.

Another three good things, though a bit more mundane today: Yesterday I crocked myself in the back department picking blackcurrants. We have to net them otherwise the birds scoff the lot. Then, as any cook knows, you have the job of topping and tailing each and every one. I can steel myself to do this once a year because of the payoff. Glad to say managed it but with cricked neck to match back. Joy.
1. But this morning made a big load of pastry. Now have a baked blackcurrent pie sitting cooling
2. Used the rest of the pastry to make a mediterranean veggie tart with almonds, pine nuts and roast tomatoes.
3. House full of lovely baking smells and we get to eat the pie later. Anticipation and also another dinner in the bag.
Now need a sit down so I am here.
So grateful I can enjoy the tastes and smells of food once again.
Wishing all of you a good day and a good dinner.
