I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

They really are  It's 3 years exactly since a scan showed the brain tumour and multiple bone tumours, it was Mothers Day weekend then too.

Yes, I'm sure my OH could put a stairlift in. As my condition is progressive I've said I'd like to keep whatever function I do have for as long as possible but I could easily manage staying downstairs all the time too. Sometimes the stairs are a challenge but occasionally they've seemed almost impossible so we'll see how it goes. No point wasting valuable energy on something like that.

It all sounds brilliant Tinalay, once people can help it helps them enormously as well. The elephant in the room is consigned to the garden where it can graze contentedly and listen to the sound of industrious relatives.xxx

  • Hi again Tinalay

I'm sure your OH could manage the stairlift but I've a notion that you may have misunderstood, I said OT,  Occupational Therapy, ie social services.

I  completely understand your reasoning behind not having one but it takes a little time to go down the social services road and if it's finished before you think you're still not ready to use it, it's in the bank, so to speak.

Take care and stay safe Tinalay

    Tvman

    Love life and family.
  • Sounds great Tinalay, so glad you have such lovely help from your family.

    My 3 good things today.

    1. Reduced dose of chemotherapy infusion today = reduced side effects, no laryngeal spasm, no leg spasms
    2. OH made fresh doughnuts today and we ate all 8 of them!
    3. My sister sent me a video of her 3 month old granddaughter cooing and responding to her father chatting to her.

Nice day Sal - REALLY jealous of the donuts!!!

  • I used to moderate what I ate, not any more, I've had to stop the ice cream for a bit so the doughnuts were delightful.

  • Tvman, kayaking in the Mourne mountains sounds lovely, I'm really glad of my ebike, I'd really miss cycling if i had to stop.

3 more good things, I seem to be getting more than my fair share.

1 Found an M&as gift voucher for £100.00 from taking out over 50s LA 2 years ago. They extended the valid period because of Covid. Treated myself t some sports wear, earrings & a luxury body scrub, and some Vegan delicacies for my sons.

2.Had my first PT session and did some boxing which I loved. Last week in the assessment I couldn’t balance in the chair enough so am getting stronger Blush

3,A delivery of a beautiful flower arrangement from 3 of my original Pilates clients. They’ve been coming to me for 25 years, that’s loyalty for you, and we regularly meet for lunch.

    Another good day xx

  • Sounds like a lovely day, serendipitous find, feeling stronger and lovely flowers.
