once  I renew and get my passport I have decided to do more, travel and do things I always wanted to do,without worrying if it's going to kill me.

I've been too worried about doing things, now to hell with it, Life has to be lived, Do more life:)

I hope this gives people more courage to do likewise.

I've  Learned you can't worry about the inevitable.

Hi may I ask have your holidays been abroad? if so who do you use for travel insurance

  • Hi Jim, Yes we've been abroad numerous times. Please have a look at the Travel Insurance Group here, there is also a Holiday Insurance Group plus many more, full of information! Personally I would never go abroad without insurance. I have been insured by MIA, Staysure and next time I will look into Holidaysure mentioned in the Martin Lewis website!

Well, after speaking to my oncologist, GP etc, I've decided against the mask for our upcoming flight. It turns out that the surgical masks worn by the Chinese etc are only effective against dust and similar. They wear them mainly because of the pollution due to fuel, fog and the like. In fact if someone next to you coughs or sneezes you get as much protection by putting your hand over your mouth. The only masks that do protect you have filters in them and are quite a substantial size.  I did look into buying one but the only place in UK that sells them, has ran out of stock!

Where are you thinking of travelling to Jim?

Hi thanks for your reply I got a bit upset trying to find travel insurance that I just give up last summer. I am reasonably new to this Macmillan site and will endeavour to try again. Have been fortunate to have ticked of a few boxes whilst I was fit. When I mention stage 4 prostate cancer spread to my pelvic area no one seems to want to know. I think its really me not trying hard enough.  Like for my wife and I to have 2week cruise going out of Southampton. We don't really care were thanks for your info all the very best happy LIFE/HOLIDAYS

    Hello

Hope no one minds me jumping in here, I'm a bit of a technophobe and could easily loose this thread...

My travel insurance quote went from £250 for a week in Greece in Sept to £2,000+ for a week in Spain in Nov with the same company. (I have a terminal diagnosis and recent hospital admission.) Someone on the site recommended Boots Travel Insurance, they have a dedicated plan for serious illness, and I spoke to them directly. I got good cover with no exclusions for £40.00.

    Good luck!

    Morning

i had trouble with insurance until i found forces pension society . You need your consultant to approve travel ,and either you ,your partner ,or your parents to have been in armed forces .  They were very reasonable and i have an annual policy

my husband and i are in 60 s so our parents were conscripted

we went on a cruise last September, depending on my scan results and blood results ,hope to go again

    good luck

most other companies either refused to insure or wanted a fortune ,because of my osteoporosis
