Is anybody else on Gabapentin Tiiomed for a pain relief. How are you getting on with it
I started on 100 mg 3 times a day about a week ago and on GP advice am now up to 300 mg 3 times a day.

This is addition to 2 paracetamols 3 times a day. A Butec 15 microgram/hour Transdermal Patch and Oromorh
I guess I am still on about 8/10 pain scale

Any advice on Gabapentin?

Hello

Gabapentin is specifically for Neuropathic Pain, so if that’s the cause then increasing the dose would be the next step which is usually done slowly to a maximum of 3.6gm per day In divided doses.

Sometimes Gabapentin doesn’t work and a similar alternative is Pregabalin. If you have a specific area of pain then Lidocaine patches can help

This has worked well for my husband who developed Neuropathic pain after Shingles. He’s gradually beginning to reduce the dose which again has to be done very slowly
