1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!
2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!
3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.
Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

Hi everyone hope you are all ok. Not posted for a while but try and keep up with this thread as it always makes me smile.
1. Pesky chest infection seems finally to be clearing. Rough couple of weeks but definitely on the mend.
2. Went out for afternoon tea at a very posh hotel yesterday. Fantastic views of the river Mersey from the 7th floor terrace and the weather was glorious. Went with the ladies from my local Secondary Breast cancer support group.
3. The group is a Godsend. We are all in the same boat and meet up weekly to have a cup of tea and a laugh. Never was the phrase A problem shared is a problem halved more apt.
Big hugs to you all xx
Having a lovely time with my daughter and family and enjoying my treatment break. Highlights include:
1.Visit with hubby to the lovely city of Wells while granddaughter was at school. Had a chat with two elderly, (my age!) ladies in a cafe. They were touring the country watching Speedway. That’s what life’s about, making connections.
2. Helping granddaughter with crafts, reading to her, just doing the grandmotherly things. Lots of cuddles as well.
3.Eating more than my fair share of my daughter’s crisps and chocolate. Being off the meds increases my appetite exponentially.
Starting the tablets again tomorrow when I’m back home. All good things must come to an end but living well reminds me of why I keep taking them.
After a turbulent 8 months which included chucking my husband out after discovering he was seeing another woman, disease progression, starting chemo again, and an emergency admission to hospital with pleurisy and pneumonia, we're just back from our first family holiday in 10 years.
Some of the best bits....
1. We all fell in love with magical Kephalonia. Some of the scenery was so stunning I literally cried, it was overwhelming to be there and to be together. My husband and sons looked out for me in a gentle and caring way.
2. Swimming in the sea, so clear, so blue and even turquoise in some places. Despite my Celtic background the sea was not like bath water! More like a swimming pool, lovely once you were in.
3. Every meal outside, and together. Breakfast on our balcony overlooking the sea, delicious Greek food at various tavernas, all by the sea with beautiful views and the sound of lapping waves and lots of laughter.
Best. Week. Ever. Going to try to hold onto this feeling for as long as possible. xx
Hi
That is magical. I am so happy for you

My three good things
1. Dropping my older daughter at university. I didn’t think I’d see this day and I’m so proud of her
2 visiting our new puppy on the way home. She’s soo cute at five weeks old now. All waggy tail, huge eyes and soft tongue
3. Home for supper and a rest

Thanks Daloni, there’s a teeny tiny bit of guilt along with a post like mine, (actually quite a lot, but I’m trying to dial it down) when I know that so many others of us are struggling.
I love hearing about the things that have gone well and things that make a difference, whether it’s finding a vein or naming pigeons, but am aware that holidays abroad are not an option for some of us.
No wonder you’re proud of your daughter, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. I wish her every success and happiness at university.
Your puppy is adorable, you must be so excited xx
What a lovely lot of things everyone gets up to, it is lovely to read and you do inspire me to get out of the glums and do things. And welcome to and posting for the first time.
lovely things lately
1. The weather was so fabulous on Friday my friend and I went for a swim in the sea off gullane beach, a lovely sandy beach near my house. Oh my goodness, it was cold but afterwards we felt amazing! Loving this Indian summer.
2. On Thursday I went to see the BBC SSO playing in a local church, Vaughn Williams and Sibelius, just lovely and ice cream at the interval.
3. Thom yorke on desert island discs on Sunday morning with the Sunday papers, bliss.
have a lovely week everyone wherever you are xxxxx
Another sleepless night. Thinking of my three good things and reading yours is always a tonic so here goes.
1. I finished a marathon of washing 40 sleeping bags! My older daughter helps run the duke of Edinburgh award scheme and she came home in a fury a couple of weeks ago saying they had 40 sleeping bags used by the kids that needed either to be washed or thrown away. They are posh Vango three season bags costing £40 a pop. So I offered. We did most of them last week while the sun shone. A quick 35 programme and out into the sunshine, each one was dry by the time the next came out of the machine. I have solar panels on the roof so it cost nothing in electricity either. Saving the planet one sleeping bag at a time. I claim my green credentials
2. It was nice to see all the lovely nurses at the trials unit. I was in a side room signing paperwork for a trial and several of them popped in from the ward to say hello.
3. Posh ravioli with pesto and long stem broccoli for supper. Easy. Quick. Delicious
xx
I had a sofa day today and my daughter joined me after I had to pick her up from school mid morning as she was feeling unwell
1. We had a Brooklyn 99 marathon, watching the rain coming down and drinking tea and eating biscuits
2. I got a load of crochet done. I’m making a blanket for my younger daughter. I am on the edging now so I got to stay warm under the blanket as I hooked my way round it. If I can get the picture function to work I’ll post a pic of the finished item when it’s done
3. My big girl FaceTimed me from university. She’s settling in well and making friends.
Xx
1. Blanket finished! Stupid site won’t let me upload a picture. I’ll try tomorrow from my computer
2. A good friend came to puppy proof the garden and did a lovely job
3. I went to a Macmillan coffee morning at my neighbours and ate cake and chatted
xx
