1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!

2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!

3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.

Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

  • Hi Maggie,

I'm so very pleased to hear your news and that you are living up to your username.  I hope that you don't lurk too distantly and it will still be lovely to see you at the meet ups no matter what your medical status.  I think this news will be on a lot of peoples "three good things" for today.

I wish we had known last week as I missed the opportunity to congratulate you with a real life physical hug.

    love and virtual hugs,

    Gragon. xx

    Hi Maggie

I didn’t actually mean the b-off bit. Please don’t feel cast adrift. There’s always a place for you and you have a lot to give the incorrigibles old and new.

    Anyway. My three good things.

    1. I am just back from a couple of days in Geneva with my girls. We stayed with an old Red Cross pal of mine and our Facebook joy alerted a couple more who were in town. We had a right old reunion. Twenty years ago we were the last foreigners in Kosovo after the NATO bombing started. It was dramatic and noisy and very, very dangerous. The events of 20 years ago, not the reunion, I mean

    2. My head is full of impressions from our visit. The sun on the lake. The snow in the Alps and the view of Mont Blanc. The Red Cross museum. And cheese fondue.

    3. Today has been a sofa day since landing home. Payback time. But worth it.

  • MAGGIE, I've just read your news!!!! Fantastic!!! I've sent you a PM hope you get it! You must be floating on air! I'm sure it will all sink in and you'll put oncology to the back of your mind but it would be nice if you popped in from time to time to let us know what "living without incurable cancer" is really like!!

Daloni, sounds like a fantastic trip! Take as many douvet days as you need, you deserve it!

  • Hi to you all and thank you. I have many friends on here and am so pleased to heat that I am still welcome. I am still absolutely blown away by what I was told by oncologist. Haven’t really got my head around it and it is still pretty unbelievable and amazing. I have even been telling people I don’t know. They probably think I am a mad woman but never mind. If they were me they would probably want to tell the world too.

The best thing about it all is the renewed hope it has given to others.

I have asked an artistic friend to do me a poster/picture with the date on it and ‘my life began again’ so that I will never forget the day I had such good news.

    sharing my news with friends.

The dog has no longer got an upset tummy.

I had a beautiful slice of lemon drizzle cake at lunch time.

    love and hugs

    Hi

    my three good things today.

    1. Banana bread for breakfast

    2. My daughters helped me clear up the attic, which functions as a spare room. It was a mess after the new boiler was installed two weeks ago. We took the opportunity to take a full car load of rubbish formerly stored in the eaves to the dump

    3. A cheeky Nando’s for supper

Daloni, coincidentally we had banana muffins for breakfast!

As it is already tomorrow, or the small hours of today, these three things would be yesterday's.

Finished two needle cases for two granddaughters.

    The hyacinths are blooming.

Received a photo from SIL of BIL asleep in his favourite chair, a cat sleeping on each knee.

Thanks your things, which make a fourth thing for me.
