Cancer return anxiety

Hi nat88c and welcome to our little corner of the site. Your thoughts and challenges are not that unusual. I have been on my cancer journey for over 21 years now. 

I was diagnosed in 1999 with a rather rare and difficult to treat Stage 4a Low Grade Cutaneous T-Cell (skin) Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was told “Mike, I am sorry to tell you that this type of NHL is incurable, yes treatable but you will never be in remission”...... after 14 years, 900+ Dermatology treatments/clinics my condition became very aggressive so between Sep 2013 and Oct 2015 I had 6 cycles of R-EPOCH (750hrs), 45 radiotherapy zaps and two Allo (donor) Stem Cell Transplants (June 2014 and October 2015) and was eventually told I was in remission in September 2016 for the first time in 17 years...... I am living the dream.

To get some conversation going make a cuppa and have a look at this great paper After Treatment Finishes - Then What? by Dr Peter Harvey as it highlights the post treatment milestones and come back and tell me what stands out for you once you read it.

I'd go back and get the lump checked out again. We know health professionals are fallible

Ask your doctor to be referred to the breast clinic and then you will have some peace of mind.

I had (and still do) a lump in my left armpit. The GP referred me to the breast clinic and I was told it is fatty tissue.

Hi thanks for the replies I have gone back to doctors who are now doing further tests to determine what the lumps are so hopefully will have some answers soon.

Now been referred to breast clinic next week so just under 2 weeks from seeing the doctor so things are moving quickly 

This is the only way to get clear answers, let’s hope you get news that is positive and not disappointing ((hugs))

Hi all quick update went to breast clinic Monday and the specialist assured me it’s nothing sinister it’s just a extra tissue that has grown properly due to a hormone imbalance so more test to figure out if that is the cause  but relived it not the bad news I was expecting 

This is very good news, this does often happen but until you get a clear answer the brain is on overdrive ((hugs))
