Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to share that I’m currently living with an ileostomy after having a rectal tumor removed. I’m feeling a bit anxious about what things will be like after my reversal. I had an ultra-low anterior resection, and I’d love to hear any thoughts or experiences you might have! Thank you so much! Any advice would mean a lot to me!
Hi there , I also have a rectal tumour removed and a temporary stoma fitted , I had my stoma for over a year and when I came to have it reversed I also thought about should I or not ? However I had my reversal two years ago , I stayed in hospital one night as I wanted to recover at home , my recovery was slower than I thought it would be but made sure I had good painkillers to help me . I also found that it took time for the wound to close up and had to see a nurse daily to have it padded .
2 years on and I still have to be careful of what I eat as I either get constipated or the other way , however the op is worth it and I am happier xx
it takes time but you will cope and good luck xxx
