There is a man who posts lovely poems/words on a local social media site I belong to. Below is today's post I have copied it , I enjoyed reading it I hope you do to.
It`s nice to be nice - I can tell you
But it`s nicer to mean it as well
What stirs in the mind of another
Nothing and no one can tell
There`s no machine to scan feelings
No X-ray image of pain
And eyes can`t see the emotions
That swirl around in the brain.
It`s nice to be nice for a reason
For being nice is a lift -
A gentle spur and a tonic
And a sweet and heavenly gift.
It`s a welcome, encouraging gesture
Of caring affection displayed
And a timely warm intervention
To the lonely, lost and afraid.
It`s nice to be nice and it`s easy -
It doesn`t need talent or style
To speak a kind word to another
And follow it up with a smile.
The action is calm and assuring
And has a twofold effect
It affords two people a rapture
And a warmth they didn`t expect
It`s a balm, instant and soothing -
A human tender display
Which gives to existence a purpose
And sunlight to brighten the day.
It`s nice to be nice - it`s angelic
And has the power to enthral -
It renders the heart sympathetic
And seeks out the goodness in all
It`s an action well-meaning and noble,
Inherent and rooted in love
Bred in the soul of compassion
And handed down from above.
I wont print his name I want to get his permission to do so first. Xx
Hi process, I do like this, thank you.
Thank you Higlander, we need more prayers here please if you have any to spare, yesterday my husband had his colonoscopy following the national bowel screening and sadly and in shock he has been told he has cancer. We have been told he will have lots of appointments with scans and tests in next two weeks. Still taking it in, trying to stay positive but also worried. I know The same thing happened to Zero. Few weeks ago, he had surgery last Wednesday but has not been back to forum since. I have kept him in my thoughts and prayers Zero and you welcomed me when I joined forum.
Hi process, so sorry to hear that cancer has been confirmed so first some warm ((hugs)) to you.
I see you are part of the Bowel Cancer Forum so this will be a great place to connect with people who understand what his treatment journey will be like and where to get your questions answered.
Your husband and yourself will be on my daily list to remember.
It would be very helpful if you could put something into your profile as this does help others when replying to you or for those looking for support and information as they can read a bit about the journey you and your family are on.
Just click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile' under the 'Profile Settings'. If you're not sure what sort of thing to put just click on my username, Thehighlander to read my profile but my cancer journey was rather long.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
