Hi Blossom, my lymph side was sore for a good six weeks. Everyday I had to stretch it out. I am only just lying on that side after 8 weeks. Keep the exercises up it goes eventually xx

    Blossom

4 months before I started to feel better from the lymph node removal.

Even now somedays it aches like mad. Like Paula said keep doing the excercises.

I still can't lie on that side, but as I've said before, all you younger ladies seem to get better a lot quicker than this old granny!!!

    Love Jean xx

Hi Blossom, mine was only sore for about three weeks, but I still have numbness in armpit, underarm and an area on the back. I was doing the exercises rigourously from day 1 even if it hurt a bit. I can now stretch my arm as good as before operation (operation 12 May).

Steph - Persillade is a mixture of shallots, garlic, flat leaved parsley and sometimes tarragon. It is usually added to a dish towards the end. Can send you the recipe on email if you give me your email address.

Jean - I have been able to sleep on the side for weeks now - and I'm a great granny!!! (Admittedly - it's my husband's great grandchildren and he is 14 years older than me, he just turned 70).

Have a nice rest of weekend all,

    Love, Laila xx

Metal mouth driving me bonkers i ate so much over last 2 days as steroids make me starvin but dont enjoy any of the food i ate :-( now feel like a baby elephant. Hoping by tommorow things start become more normal i gonna end up massive at this rate - not impressed at all. Booked a meal for me and hubby on 20th July - god knows what i will wear as nothing gonna fit by then. Had chemo wed and yesterday all my arm goes dimply and heavy like full of fluid and breast area from op goes really sensitive then feels like got lumps all over back of head and upper back - its weird usually goes by end of today. I only done 3 out of my 8 chemo and its seriously grinding me down - though the last 3 seem to have gone fast - still horrid thinking got another FIVE to go. Sulk moan sulk moan. Hey ho. Stef x

Hey Steff, it's crap I know. It has had the opposite effect on me this time, I don't want to eat because I can't taste it. Not been too bad with other side effects apart from being up all night. Try and stay positive, wish I had 5 to go, I have another 12 and it looks like I may have to have a hickman fitted yuk!!!
Come on girl, we can do it. xxx

    Morning Stef and Paula

Sorry you are both having an awful time. I do know how you feel. Been there, done it, got the T Shirt, the Baldy head etc.etc.etc.etc. Yes it is crap, but remember this crap is giving us a life. Just try to be positive and think of all the good times ahead of you.

Hey, my girlies, if this old bugger can get through it, you two can! I've had 8 now and have 4 to go. It does get easier once you get to the half way mark, time wise and you can see an end to it. Although my first lot was 4 doses every three weeks, the second lot is 8 doses, twice a month for 4 months. So I counted the first lot of 4 as the half way mark (just to fool myself a bit) Now I am half way through the second lot and they way I look at it now is that July and August will be crap but I so long for September.

In a strange way, although my metal mouth is fading and I can taste things again, although not properly, I am wishing that it was 29th July, that I had metal mouth again and anything else it cares to throw at me, because then I would only have to wait 4 weeks to be finished with the whole bloody lot.

I think what I am trying to say is try to find something positive to hold on to. Have a glass that is half full, not half empty. Think how good Xmas will be this year! (Remember I found my lump on Xmas Eve and Xmas for me was total crap, with the family here and no one knowing except me)

Sorry if I have waffled on, I just wanted you both to know that I am thinking so much about you both.

Keep fighting, girlies, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

    Much love
    Jean xx
