Hello my name is Heather I have just been diagnosed with brest cancer last week for the first time (and last I hope) Both my sisters have had cancer, one died seven month ago Im a bit scared of what to expect with the chemo. Can anyone tell me how soon after the treatment do you start to feel ill? How soon do you lose your hair?

    Morning All

Kay, thanks for that. I sometimes feel as if I am going mad. One thing gets better and then you get something else!

Don't beat yourself up about the smoking. I'm another addict. Trying desperately to cut down........can't stop yet......sorry girls. Maybe when this is all over

I am moisurising, moisturising, moisturising. At the end of this lot I should have wonderful soft skin, if nothing else!!!

Can anyone taste anything these days? The only thing I can taste now is my tomato juice and Lea and Perrins sauce in the morning. The ratio of juice to sauce goes up on a daily basis. I'm nearly at neat Lea and Perrins now LOL. Even my trusty pineapple chunks are losing their appeal.

    Keep battling on!

    Morning girls!
I got Monica (my wig) out last night and went out for dinner before I get zapped again on Wednesday. It is my last AC which is another milestone to cross off. Apparently my next 12 are supposed to be kinder so here's hoping!!!
The boredom of not being as active as I was is killing me to the point I decided to get organised and do lots of cooking to freeze down for when I am chemo'd. I can now safely say if we get snowed in in July James and I can survive for a whole two years, I think I went a little overboard lol
Has anyone else filled in their DLA form? If so what did you put down, I didn't really sound that ill on mine.
My sister had a call from the NHS yesterday to say she had to go into hospital today for her mastectomy tomorrow. Good news as she dosen't have to go private now.
Have a good day everyone, it's raining here!

    Hi Paula

Hope your new lot of chemo is kinder to you. I expect it will be. I think that's what most of us have found.

Glad your sister is getting sorted out at long last.

Do tell me what you had to eat last night and see if it stimulates my dead taste buds!!!

I phoned for my DLA form last Thursday and was told it would take 7 - 10 days to arrive.

    Raining here too!

Hi Jean, I had a fillet steak with mushrooms, courgettes in garlic and butter and new potatoes. I savoured it as tomorrow I will have a metal mouth just like you.Tonight I am going to make the most of my home grown French beans, courgettes, carrots and Royal Jersey new potatoes, I hate wasting them on my metal mouth so I always pick them for my last supper lol. I am also having a pedicure and manicure today, it cheers me up when I feel like crap. I normally have my eyebrows waxed and tinted at the same time but I am frightened to death they will drop out so holding onto them for dear life. xxx

    Morning,

Jean and Paula my form has just arrived in the post. I quickly looked through it and i agree with you Paula. I'm not sure whether we'll get it or not. I'll take a better look at it later and see what i think, i guess we've got nothing to lose.

Good luck for tomorrow Paula, it's great you're on your last AC and i'll keep my fingers crossed the next one is kinder to you. Will your hair start growing on the next chemo? It's fab news that your sister is moving on to the next step.
I know what you mean about being active. The week before my chemo i rush around doing as much as possible, including cooking and freezing loads of meals ready for when i hit the chemo coma and have no energy for anything!

Good luck ladies with cutting down on the cigs. Big hugs from me to all your hubbys hee hee :-D

Hi Chelle, you're right we have nothing to lose so I sent it back anyway. I don't think my hair will grow back on the next one but it would be great to hold onto the eyebrows and lashes.
Jean and Chelle I hope your chemo has treated you kindly this time, it's a great feeling crossing them off isn't it. xxxx
