    Evening everyone.
Good news is GREGORY has been forced back into hiding (hopefully for another 19 years lol)
Bad news is I started a LLB Honours Degree in Law 3 years ago and I have now had to put it on hold as my chemo comas will not allow for six hours study a day. Oh well, I can always take it up again when fit and awake and it isn't the end of the world as it was only a hobby. Speaking of hobbies, I play lots of chess on line. If it takes anyone's fancy give me a shout, very relaxing and can be played in between chemo lol

Hi Janet nice to meet you and so good to hear your good news but also sad to hear about your mother, life is very cruel sometimes, keep as positive as you can and loves and hugs to your mum.

Paula i have a GREGORY - see what you have started now i have never had a name for it hahahaha but i not suffering from constipation too badly so GREGORY is as always - just there hanging around not doing too much. Youre lucky you not gained any weight i started at 8st 12lb and am now dithering aroung 9st 2lb and 9 st 5lb. Did you have your second chemo on wed just gone? i cant remember now, i had my 2nd fec CHEMO on wed just gone and actually slept well lastnight after it woke at 8.30am :-) and slept 1.30 till 3.30 this afternoon and feel ok just feel hot and red in face and chilled, but food not tasting right. But i am making shopping list of nice recipes for the days i know i will taste food and it tastes amazing so i will do chicken and prawn chilli noodle and home made italian meatballs with lemon zest in and a red pepper and onion tomato sauce with tagliatelle - its everyones favourite. I am thinking of getting another wig as was not comfy wearing it at first bandanas were comfier but now got nearly no stubble left it feels comfier and definately think i will start wearing it especially think it will make me feel more ME when the lashes and brows go. So might buy a bob type wig as the one i have got is more like my own hair style and colour and i got it free from christies wig shop should have been £85 - what are the prices like to buy at shops?

Chelle great news about your hair soon you will look like you again:-) keep us updated. Yes if you have 2 cats you would have your hands full with a pup and you got 2 warm cuddly friends - i had no cuddly loyal friend so was very lonely on my own in day and couldnt stand thought of being without pet.Trevor doing brill just has these mad hours where he is litterally out of control he uses my HUGE lavendar bush as a trampoline he bounces through it while i stand there shouting at him but he also has lots of calm moments and is very loveable, he was sat on my knee (i was sat on loo talking to hubby in bath) trevor was very interested and licked all soap of hubbys ears so we popped him in the bath and he was calm and enjoyed. and no weees or poos overnight and 90% of it done outside today :-) so feel like getting there, and he comes every time i say come trevor. just know that the best command i can teach him is STAY as it can save their life if running after something or towards a road - but it is hard to teach.

My daughter is camping with her friend in tent tomorrow night and has a big goody bag and SHANDY and my son is going for a big walk up Rivington with his friend CONE HEAD that is seriously what they call him - for obvious reasons ha ha ha, they doing the walk they did on Bronze Duke of Edinburgh, i think another squadron is up there doing it for real and they going to tag along - he has done his bronze and silver duke of edinburgh and goes flying and gliding and shooting with air cadets he has a wonderful time and is the best trumpet player in his squadron. Then my mum and dad taking them both for pub tea on saturday so lots of peace in our house whoopee.

I am changing my profile pic to show you my wig it spiky at back and i smooth the top and sides down to make it less boffy.

STEFFF!!!!! Stop it, I have just had dinner and I am imagining chicken and prawn chilli noodles with a side order of meatballs, God help me lol
I had my 2nd chemo last Wednesday 10th and due for next one on the 24th, hopefully my boob will be healed as the chemo isn't helping the healing process at the mo.
I got two wigs off the hospital, the lady told me they would be about £300 each to buy privately but I got them free on the NHS.
Bloody hell, off to find noodles!!!!!! xxxx

I love your wig Steff, it looks so natural. Because I figured I would have a laugh with this I went totally opposite with mine and it paid off going out last night in it lol
I think if you are going to wear one in the day (unlike me) you should go for it and get a blonde one so you have a change. I am swaying towards bandanas with hair pieces down the back if I go out about town, around the house and visiting friends I am feeling comfy bald.
Again I love the spiky one in the pic xxx

Thanks Paula - i think your bandana and hair in the red bandana looks bloomin brill, i got 3 bandanas the red one you got and a navy paisley and a plain green one from that site you mentioned - very nice too only thing i found is as they are smaller than ones i been using i feel a bit minimal at the back and shot off but they really comfy and like them. If you tie your bandana and then turn it round so the knots are at the front (like i did as my son said i looked like tom and jerrys mum - the mama) and all you need is a fag in corner of mouth and a mop and you have another look hahaha - when you so hungry like you are now can you eat and eat and still feel empty and then more you eat the ditheryness subsides and feel better i was only like that on the sat and sun then normal appetite came back by the mon or tues but everything tasted brill then.

Hey Mr Cragg (my elderly neighbour who i scared by whipping my wig off) got me some Manuka honey from cosco 2 jars for £9 on offer, said it is £10 in coop late shop. Apparently you have to look for 10+ antibiotic values. Having read up about its ability to stop MRSA and hosp super bugs the main thing it good for is wound healing - also mentioned radiotherapy soreness so i eat one jar and love it in hot milk, then save other jar for smearing on when i have radiotherapy with a dressing over but that not till end Nov i believe when i start radiotherapy. They are trying it on patients with mouth and throat cancers as it stops bacterias in that area too.

LOL, give me a week and I won't need the bandana to look like the Mama lol
Your neighbour Mr Cregg is so right Steff! My mum had a hysterectomy 30 years ago(in the days when they cut you right across). To cut a long story short her stitches burst and she had a hole in her lower stomach about the size of a 10p piece. The doctor visited her at home and rolled a piece of gauze up, dipped it in honey and filled the hole. He repeated this for four days until the hole had closed and healed. Can't beat the old remedies. Definately going to get some tommorrow for my boob and like yourself will use it for my mouth. Thanks for reminding me xxxx

    Morning all,

Guess what??...yep i have a Gregory too!!! But my hubby refers to it as Giles!!! :-) Mine hadn't been seen for years either!! It's just as well we can laugh about it coz it's nothing to laugh about when you need the loo!!!

I'm reasurred that i'm not the only one gaining weight. Normally i can eat everything and anything and not put on a pound. Now i'm a bottomless pit and gaining fast!! Trouble is am i going to gain more once they induce an early menopause with the hormone tablets?!! All these side effects are a nightmare! Stef your menu is making me dribble :-)

The wigs definately fit better and are more comfortable when you have no hair. Though like you Paula i'm happy being bald around the house, though i loved your bandana with hair. Stef i felt more like me wearing the wig especially when my eyebrows and lashes were disappearing. Think i'll try out the mama look next :-D. I love your wig, it looks like real hair. Thanks for the honey tip, i don't like honey but am happy to smear it on my skin when i'm having radiotherapy. I agree with you Paula -you can't beat the old remedies.Trevor sounds like he is doing really well, not so sure your lavendar bush is doing quite so well :-) Enjoy your peace and quiet. Your kids will be having such a great time, you enjoy it too. When my kids were away last month i couldn't believe how tidy the house was!! Everything was where i left it there was little washing and the house work was minimal...it was great!

Jean it's like being pregnant!!! Fancing all those foods that you don't normally eat!

Marmalade and heathann i hope you are both well as we haven't heard from you both in a while x

Today i'm actually considering shaving my legs and armpits soon...yipee! Can't believe i'd be happy to shave! The hair on my head is growing slowly..still a bit like a gooseberry (some smooth parts and some fluffy/stubble). I'm dying to get to the action man stage (short and stubbly) Then i'll have a good covering ready for it to grow. How long after chemo does it reach the action man stage?? I'm so impatient!!

Like Janet said, keep smiling everyone, love Chelle x

I am pleased to report that it is now radiotherapy....tick!!!! It's all done. My boob is not too bad either. It is a little red but to be honest I have had worse sunburn.

Had my first Tamoxifen today as well and am pleased to report that for me it was fine. I haven't had any sickness with it and the hot sweats are not worse. To be honest the Zoladex stops me producing nearly all my oestrogen. I don't think that there is that much left for the Tamoxifen to work on! I have agreed to take both these drugs until Christmas ( I just cannot handle two years of Zoladex) the just the Tamoxifen for another two and a half years then fingers crossed I will come off everything to try for a baby!!!!How exciting!!!!

A couple of days ago someone asked about flying. I did fly twice during chemo ( once after number two then again after number four) I told my onc about this and she was not too concerned. I only travelled in Europe and only on my good week. I am an Air Hostess but will not be flying straight away when I return to work. I will be in the terminal at first showing people how the use the check in machine ( I hope someone shows me how to use it first!!!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend. My brother is coming down to see me....How exciting!!! xxx

Marian what a milestone you have reached glad your radiotherapy is over and that you are not too sore. How exciting trying for a baby - he or she will be very much loved as you have had to wait for him/her rather than it just happening :-) I have two ace teenagers a daughter who is 13 and a son of 16 they are both helpful and wash up and clean up after the Pup change their own bedding my son is in air cadets and is not interested in girls properly yet (well they dont knock at the door anymore i think he tried it and wasnt that impressed) but he has good clean fun and is never in any trouble. My daughter is just like me in her ways which can be difficult to accept but funny too, she goes street dancing but is not the most active person - likes watching tv and eating more :-) whereas son goes swimming and gym in same morning and likes to think his body is a temple. My best times were when they were babies and i minded my cousins baby too and i had shag pile carpet in the kitchen and no central heating and no double glazing and no money i just loved letting them play pouring water in the sink with bubbles and play doh and taking them to woods with picnics and letting them play in rivers in their wellies - good clean fun.

Great job you got i am a secretary for NHS which i enjoy - i had to cancel my holiday to Portugal Praia de Rocha i think i was going on 21 July and have cancelled due to the chemo, my friend who is the sister at work has asked if we want to go to Florida next year with her family (our daughters are best friends) but i not very adventurous and not really like idea paying for rides that wont dare go on and then the whole feeling like have to consider everyones thoughts etc. and at moment i feel like i would appreciate a relaxing holiday more. And then theres insurance after having chemo.

Did you not hear of the willow foundation you would have qualified for a free special day of your choice - day at spa, hot air balloon, racing car driving - overnight city or country break, trip round london incl london eye, or west end show - and centre parks or party with entertainment and catering put on. see if it not too late and enquire - you deserve a special day hun :-)

Chelle cant believe your looking forward to shaving your legs and armpits - i think its ace not having to. and ive broken a record today had my wig on all day exept when i had nap 2-3.30pm and managed to go shopping this morning - the day after chemo i think i did pretty good. Food tasting gross but looking forward to taste buds coming back cant believe i can sleep so well this time as first chemo i was up at 4am for a while -Chelle did you have FEC first and did you notice similar sleep changes?
    Stef x
