Hello my name is Heather I have just been diagnosed with brest cancer last week for the first time (and last I hope) Both my sisters have had cancer, one died seven month ago Im a bit scared of what to expect with the chemo. Can anyone tell me how soon after the treatment do you start to feel ill? How soon do you lose your hair?

Thanks Jan, that's a great help. I have been told I will have to have chemo so I suppose dry blowing my hair will be the least of my problems lol. Thanks for the welcome, it's a relief to be able to discuss this without worrying everyone is going to burst into tears.

    Hi

Having another lazy day lol Dave my hubby is doing the house work in his own way. We are having friends for dinner and he is cooking a curry yum.

Paula just wanted to say hello and all the best for Monday

The chemo does accumulate and I found by the end of my chemo treatment I was exhausted but after a couple of months I felt better. I had 6 weeks of radio which I found also made me feel weak. But I got through this and looked forward to the end of my treatment.

Blossom I hope your new chemo will not cause you any constipation! I cant believe a lot of you are nearly half way through the chemo as it doesnt seem that long ago we all met.

Thinking of you all and I hope you have a great holiday weekend.

    Take care

    Love Lorraine xxxx

    hi all,
jean my op has been booked for the 19th june. im quite excited about having the breast reduction, nervous about removal of lymph nodes i dont know yet if he is going to remove a few or all of them.
and im alson terrified at the same time.

lorraine i know its crazy how time flies but it also drags at the same time, if you know what i mean. sometimes i find this whole journey tests me mentally so much. and what you said about the chemo accumulating, people had told me chemo 4 was the worst , but i have found chemo 5 the hardest for me.But it didnt help having the constipation and then getting a cough and cold. the thought of it being the last one next week keeps me going.

Does anyone get pain in their feet, my heels hurt. Also i find i get jumpy legs too.

    ty everyone for being here.

    have a good weekend.

    love Blossom. xxxxx

    Hi

Paula I had a 12 hr op recon and mastectomy got out of hospital on the 7th day and went to the pub for a pint on the way home Hope you be able to do the same lol. All the best xx

Blossom I had all my lymph glands removed on my right side and although I feel a bit numb under my arm it feels ok. I did my excersizes religiously and I believe thats important. I had a reduction on my left breast as my recon was smaller. I was only in hospital for 2 days and now ware a te shirt without a bra lol I had to get something good out of all this crap lol.

    hope your all good

    lots of love Lorraine xxxxxx

I am having recon done at the same time too Lorraine. I did tell the surgeon I wanted to come home the next day, I'm not surprised he wasn't too happy having heard you were in 7 days.My twin 19yr old daughters are very jealous I will have firmer boobs than them lol

    Blossom

It sounds like you may have a touch of hand and foot syndrome. I got it, and walking was quite painful for a couple of weeks. The answer is to apply cream liberally to the feet twice a day. Any moisturising cream will do, but I found that E45 cream worked just fine. You can get a big pot from Boots and it's a lot cheaper than the brand names. Hope that helps.

    Hi Paula

Out the next day lol You will have some drains in that will take a few days to stop filling up. Glad your doing both at the same time get it over and done with. It is great to have a pair that dont sag lol Love being able go without a bra. Make sure you do your excersizes as it will help with the amount of movement you will get in your arm. Good luck and all the best.

Hope you are all ok and enjoying your weekend!

    Lots of love
