    Chrissi,

I am sorry to hear that more nodes are infected than originally though but it is great news that it has not spread to your organs. There are so many drugs now to keep it under control...hopefully for years and years. As an aside have you looked at the cancer Research page? They have lots of clinical trials going on. Maybe some of the new drugs will be of benefit to you. I don't know if this will be of any help but when I got diagnosed I bought a book called what to eat if you have cancer...I have found this has helped me a lot and given me some control back..One very good food for breast cancer is oily fish such as mackerel as it interferes with breast cancer growth pattern and I now try to eat it at least a couple of times a week. The research says that the eskimo people that basically eat tonnes of oily fish have next to no breast cancer.

I think finishing work is the best thing....you said that customers will talk about their problems...I am sure it is hard to listen to when you have problems of your own.

Also which airline are you flying to New York with?It is a brilliant city, you will love it!

    Take care

    Hi everyone

Blossom - sorry to hear your news, easy for me to say, but if you can deal with BC you can cope with this. Much love.
Lailla - take care, but not too much!
Jean - hope you enjoyed the lunch.
    Sam - I haven't had a crush since, ooh, can't remember. I'm quite jealous.
Steff,- I love the Lakes, have a fantastic time. I shall keep fingers crossed about the weather.
Chrissi - so sorry to read your news. I can only echo what Marian has said. Treatment seems to improve all the time these days, leading to survival rates unheard of not so long ago.

Love to everyone I've missed, hope noone's suffering too much with treatment. I'm off to get a fancy dress costume for a party next weekend. I'll let you know who I'm going to be.

    Hi everyone

Just got back from the fancy dress shop, and lunch.

I've got a kind of generic medieval lady costume, and Paul has a Prince Charming one, both complete with wigs.

Lovely lunch to follow, so am now feeling slightly spacey!

Much love and a good weekend to all.

Hi all just to update you on what the oncologist said.
she agreed that the surgery needs to be redone so that has made my mind up there.
she also said that my tumour markers were up, so she wants me to have a bone scan as well as the ct and ultra sound breast.
so my boss is going to do the ct on wednesday, and then I'm booked for the bone scan and ultra sound on monday, so by monday night I should be glowing in the dark. lol.
once these tests are done I shall look at returning to the UK for the reconstruction providing the test are clear.
so sorry to hear all the rotten news on here, some of you are really going through it, when I had my chemo it felt like it was never going to end. but once your done with it you look back and wonder where the time went.
so keep your chin up ladies, your nearly there a lot of you and those who are only just begining trust me the time really does fly past.
well I'm on call tonight but i have the whole weekend off, so I will wish all those having chemo next week good luck and all who have just had it a trouble free weekend.
sorry I couldn't mention you all by name but I didn't bring any paper with me to be able to write individual replys.
have a good weekend sue x

    hi,
Little miss maria, Thank you! Your suggestion of the book made me feel there is something I can do for my friend! After being diagnosed yesterday with breast cancer she was saying today she must try and eat better but doesn't really know where to start. I will order it for her!
    Good luck to everyone xxx

Hi to everyone (still can't remember all names), not been on for while. Not had a bad week, my friend took me to centerparcs for 2 days, we had the spa break, totaly pampered and relaxed, was lovely, the water beds i loved (so want one), We had saunas, spas, a facial, its tiring doing nothing, ha ha. Back home now and back to reality. I have my mastectomy on thursday, getting nervous now, more so of how i will feel after, i think it will be more emotional than anything else. My husband has been such a good support (which suprised me totaly), says it makes no difference to him as long as i get through this, i keep telling myself its just a boob, as long as the cancer is gone it doesn't matter. I will let you know how i get on. Its good to see your all still smiling through this crappy disease and your treatments, your all an inspiration, good luck to everyone having chemo or rad this week, love to everyone, catch you soon, caley xxxx

    Morning All

Sam I hope you enjoyed your chicken soup and cheese sandwich! Shame you couldn't join us at the pub for a Ploughmans and a shandy!

Hi Chrissi, sorry to read your news. As Paula said the good news is that it hasn't spread to your organs and that in itself must be a relief for you. There's so much going out there is the way of new treatments so that must give you encouragement too. Your trip sounds great. What a lovely family you must have to arrange this for you. ENJOY!!!

Kay you must post a picture of the two of you when you are dressed up.

Sue let us know how you get on with your scans etc. I hope everything goes well for you. What a bugger you have to return to the UK to get your reconstruction sorted out. But perhaps it's for the best.

Good luck for Thursday, Caley. When you feel like a natter again, let us know how you are getting on. I'm sure you will manage to cope. Just remember that you are not alone. There's a few one boobed ladies around here!!!

Well I am on my eating week, prior to chemo on Wednesday. I was out last night with the girls I used to work with, wining. dining and laughing! This weekend we have friends coming to stay and we are going out tonight for a slap up meal to celebrate Duncan's birthday, which is actually on Monday. Then on Monday we are taking all the family who live here in Stafford, out for lunch. Should be a riot! As you can see I'm packing in as much food as I can before the taste buds go again. Weight is increasing on a daily basis, but I'll sort that out when the chemo is done.

Love to you all and I hope that everyone has a good weekend. Just hope that Stef isn't drowning on her balcony!

    Hi All

Laila, Jean - I really loath having my pic taken, so I've never tried to add one to my profile before. However, as you can hopefully see, I've had a practise with one pic that I can actually bear, so I will try to add one in my costume after the party (I'm the one in the middle by the way). Sounds like a busy weekend for you Jean, hope you have a great time.

Sue - best of luck with your scans.

Caley - I shall be thinking of you on Thursday. As Jean said, plenty of us belong to the lopsided club, so feel free to share any worries you have afterwards.

    Love to all

Hi Just finished reading all the posts but having difficulty remembering all that I have read.

First Blossom what a terrible time your having. You are a strong person and I am sure give it a few months and things will be better. I am thinking of you and give you strength and lots of hugs.

Someone was asking about recon before radio. I had recon done then 26 blasts of radio. My boob did reduce in size a little but because they couldnt get enough fat from my back my recon was smaller than my original boob anyway so I had a reduction on my other boob and now am a size b when I use to be a c. Love it as I can go without a bra.

Good luck with you op on Thursday Caley I will be thinking of you.

Paula hope your boob has held up and your felling ok after your chemo

Steff hows the holiday in the lakes. Weather looks a little mixed but I'm sure this wont spoil it for you.

Sue Hope everything goes well with the scans and you can get back to GB and have the recon re done.

France was fab even though it cost me a fortune (40 euros for 4 drinks) I had my 10th chemo on Thursday and have been told i might only need 6 more rather than the original 10 more fingers crossed. Once a month I have a bone infusion called bandronate. This is given at the same time as my chemo but it makes me feel like i have the flu so this weekend is going to be a lazy one for me (any excuse) Weather pissing down as usual What has happend to the scottish summer :(. Realy fed up with my wigs. Spending more time outside with my bandanas and just ignoring people looking at me. Have bought a lot of goth jewlery chunky stuff so looking a bit like a hippy with my head gear and wooden necklaces. Dave has made up some pineapple so off to eat something healthy.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and sorry I havent posted to you all personaly but will do that next time. Its easy if you have a word doc open and you can go backwards and forwards but sorry today I am not in the mood (sorry)

Take care everyone and I will post again soon.

    Lots of love Lorraine xxxxxx
