Hi all yes going to look at english springer spaniels today a lady has 2 boys left - and we have decided to call it TREVOR my 16 yr old son said that its cool and will shout TREV :-)

Dracsam i had lumpectomy and 25 (all) lymph nodes removed on 27th April and yes there is numbness and i have sensitive areas still to. i feel like it still tender or bruised where the drain was ???? i also notice my nipple swelling up and down as if it must be fluid building up and finding its way elsewhere.

Has anyone felt like all their upper body muscles are sore - even to touch or like had a huge work out, even my head, neck,, underarms especially my back - only noticed it late lastnight and by time got in bed was like sleeping in a bed of rocks - my skin felt so tender and lumpy? I rang the hotline just to check and she wasnt aware of the symptoms and i took temp which is fine, hey ho. but if anyone else has experienced this i would feel better to know, thanks.

I sat in sun for 5 mins yesterday and came in like an umpa lumpa - lesson learned there. stay out of the sun.

So glad Diversity won britains got talent (secret is i am an ex body popper myself hahahaha and still do it when had too much to drink).

    Love to everyone x stef

I had a mastectomy and full lymph node clearance Feb 08. The area under my arm and across my chest are still numb, although not quite as much as they were immediately after the op. Going by other ops I've had, I think it possible that a certain amount of numbness is likely to be permanent. However, you do get used to the sensation in time. You may also get various aches, pains, lumps and bumps until things settle down. Try not to worry (what a useless thing to say!).

Hope everyone else is having a lovely sunny day.

Hi Dracsam, I am so glad your diagnosis was better than expected, brilliant news!!! I had my op 4 weeks ago and the feeling is just coming back now, the surgeon told me it would be around 6 weeks.
Stef a new puppy, you lucky thing. Can you post a photo when it arrives? I had the aching as well Stef but the nurse told me it was the injections in my stomach that cause it, are you having these? Sore mouth aswell yesterday, I didn't expect it so soon to be honest.
Tonight we are off bowling and out for dinner with the kids and their partners but I am resting today as my daughter shopped me till I dropped yesterday (got some great clothes though and some funky hats from Monsoon).
Jean I was thinking of you at 3am whilst drinking hot chocolate and walking the boards, hope you had a good nights sleep last night.
Everyone have a lovely day, the weather is great!!!!!! xxxxx

    Hi Stef & Dracsam

It has taken me 3 and a half months to more or less recover from having all the lymph nodes, in one arm, removed on Feb 6th. My age, may have something to do with that!!

All the literature you read states 6/8 weeks and you should be feeling better. I had to have my husband rub in Ibuleve or Ibuprofen into my back for 4 weeks to ease the aches and pains. It is only this last week that I have been able to actually touch underneath my arm and feel anything. It was numb up until then.

Pain used to move up and down my side to begin with for a few weeks, but that has gone now. The drain hole was painful for a few weeks too. The oncologist said all the aches and pains were due to internal scarring still healing. I must say these past few days, painwise, I am feeling a lot better. I can actually put my arm above my head now. I'll be doing cartwheels next!!!

Paula, I went to bed at 12.45. this morning. I missed you having your hot cholcolate at 3.a.m. I slept until 5.15.a.m. so a slight improvement. Managed to lie quietly until 6.a.m. and then prodded hubby gently and whispered in his ear "TEA"

Hopefully today being the first one without steroids, i should sleep better tonight. I bl...y hope so, as we start all over again on Wednesday with them.

    Hey Ho, onwards and upwards.

Lorraine, are you still in your brother's pool????

Chelle I hope you are not still sleeping. You'll have to waken up for bloods on Monday and more chemo on Tuesday!!!!

Enjoy the sunshine girlies, just remember the factor 50 or you will frazzle.

    Love to all

    Hi everyone,

thanks for all your tips and good wishes.

Been out shopping for my daughters 15th birthday (tomorrow) 1st June. Can't believe how grown up she is. I must admit, I am here there and everywhere, so hope i am not overdoing it? My chest, where they operated is lumpier now than before but I am hoping its all just fluid, may give the nurses a ring next week. Do any of you know anyone who has had grade 1 ductal cancer.... do you all think I should not worry too much, that its very unlikely to come back...? Its just been 2 months of full on drama, now its relax, it should be all over?? I hope sooo much that this is the case..

What have you all been up to? Its so hot out there, but I'm not complaining..just keeping in the shade on my new swinging settee (husband bought me for being a brave girl)!! well beats a bunch of flowers..

    Keep strong girls

    Hi Margaret and Dracsam

After today only 2 more to go. Hope your boob doesn't frazzle completely,Margaret. You must be over the moon that all this treatment is nearly over.

What happens next? Do you know?

Dracsam, as for worrying, well I think whether we have had a lumpectomy, masectomy, lymph nodes removed. Treatment of any combination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and drugs, we have all had cancer. HAD being the operative word.

I think we all know that there is a chance of it re occuring. But let's be positive.

Live life to the full. Love your husband and your children and grandchildren (if you have any) Enjoy your pets, the nice weather, days out, family occasions.

And as my old mother used to say, make sure you are wearing clean knickers when you go out as you may get knocked down by a double decker bus!!!!

No one, including all the well people, have any idea what's in front of them and it's just as well that we don't.

So try not to worry. I know, easier said than done.

By the way, went to bed at 10.45. last night and by 11.00. apparently I was snoring my head off. Apart from 2 trips to the loo I slept until 7.00. Whey Hey!!

Bloods tomorrow, more chemo Wednesday. My 2 youngest grandchildren are coming to see me today, aged 3 and 4. They have been on holiday for 2 weeks and I have missed them. Soooooooooooo looking forward to seeing them!!!!

    Love to all

Hi Margaret, whey hey, two more after today, what a great feeling for you, GO GIRL!!!!!
Dracsam the way I am trying to look at it is I am now being monitored more than your average person and I have been scanned from top to toe. In other words I know far more about what is going on inside me than most, like Jean said it's better than worrying about wearing clean drawers in case I get run over lol. My mum is ten years clear now which I find encouraging.
Jean I am jealous! After a great evening out I was in bed by 8.45 exhausted, back up at 12 back at 2am up at 4am back by 5am and up at 6am, I am sending myself dizzy lol Have a great day with the grandkids, I hope the weather is as good for you as it is here!
All the other ladies I hope your spirits are high today xxxxx

    Hi All

I'm a bit concerned about Chelle. She used to always be so tired after her chemo that she slept for 2/3 days/nights and then came round.

She is now on her second "batch" of chemo which is given 2 weeks on the trot and she hasn't been on the board.

I hope she is coping with it.

If anyone is in touch with Chelle privately, could they let me if she is ok and if she is coping with the new regime.

    Margaret................one more to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Love to all
