    Morning folks,

Jay - thinking of you - hugs sent for you and your girls. x

Gayle - glad to hear you both had a good night - Martin done really well staying out so late didnt he!?

Emma - hope today finds matthew better? As the others have said, Im sure the scan wouldve picked up something before now...hopefully its just a wee glitch..your man is a trouper remember.

Carrie - hope you and B have a lovely weekend with your friend. (ps - i actually own a "best of barry M" - bought it in HMV about 4 years ago...its fab...what a sad admission eh!)

Debbie - Hope your dad is still doing well.

Becca and Lorraine - girl, if your reading at all - hope all is okay for you both at your end...let me know.

Diane - thinking of you too - nothing wrong with a chippy now and then...white pudding suppers are just the best - dont forget the pickles though!

Izz - love to you - hopefully your just to busy to be posting just now?

Love also to Joan, Greentree, Karen and everyone else.

Well after getting the decent scan result news a few weeks ago things from this end should be good...but unfortunatley theyre not. From a short 3 weeks ago I feel my dad's health has went downhill - a few weeks ago he was able to walk along to the end of the street and buy his daily record but now he even toils to walk a couple of feet as he's sooo knackered - its a real effort for him to even walk to my car so its putting him off going out. Im hoping its to do with the clots (he has 2 in his lungs now) and that the injections he gets twice a day fromt he district nurses will eventually help. WHo knows...yet again its another huge knockback for him and its a case of waiting and seeing. again.

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend.....I might even try an alcohol free one...watch this space ha ha! xxxxx

Oh haggis is a fav of mine too, or smoked sausage...with lots of brown chippy sauce..mmm, what am I doing thinking of chippy's at 10.15! Yes, your right - hopefully the "bounce" effect will come back and he'll improve again...going to take them for a run out to South Queensferry just now so him wanting to go out today is an improvement in itself. I have a wee car but somehow the 5 of us manage to squeeze in...my mum stuck in the middle of the two cars seats!!

Lesley, That sounds good going to feed the ducks in the park, we love doing that with Martine and the swans too, a lovely day for that is your dad going with you?? Takeaways I love them too, especially Indian my favourite and also chinese, not had a curry in ages Martin used to love chinese and Indian but he has lost his taste buds for them both and loves home cooking and still an occassional chippy, I really miss the curries tho.

Gayle - ohhhhhhhhh curries are my absolute favourite - madras, popadoms, the lot! the hotter the better. That's a shame Martin has lost his tastebuds...you could still indulge in a sneaky wee one now and then!? No, my dad's not going, he wants to stay in and do his crossword...my mum gives him his lunch and he's okay to be left for a few hours, he just potters about - he's sleeping a lot more than he did at the moment.

Enjoy your packing (i would!), speak later. xxx

    Hi everyone

B's friend from NZ has just visited, his carers have turned up and his cousellor is due soon, so I've made myself scarce for a while. As housework holds no appeal I decided i would catch up with you lovely lot. A much nicer way to spend my time.

Jay - lovely to hear from you. I've emailed you. x

Gayle - so pleased you enjoyed the theatre. Good to do something 'normal' for a change. Is it this weekend you go away? What are we all going to do without you. We'll miss you, but hope that you have a fantastic time. You all deserve it.

Debbie - Glad your dad's still upbeat. Just shows how different treatment in a hospital can make a difference.

Lesley - Let's hope that your dad is just feeling the after effects from being messed about so much in hospital. It must have tired him out. I used to love taking the boys to feed the ducks in our local pond. For some reason they're not quite so enthusiastic now, could be their age?! in the village where we had our wedding reception there is a pond and we made up bags of bread so if anyone wanted they could go and feed the ducks in the gap between the meal and the party in the evening.

Emma - Thinking of you and hoping that Matthew is feeling more like himself again (if you know what I mean).

Haggis. Yum! We have a friend who has relatives he visits just outside Edinburgh, and when he visits them he brings back a haggis for us. We also celebrate Burns night. Things didn't work out quite so well this year as we had to buy a haggis from Tesco and it was so bland. We're looking forward to Aungust when Tim next visits Scotland for our next haggis fix. I think we may be having a curry tonight. Last night B said he fancied a lamb dupiaza, but we'ed already eaten, so I think we'll be sharing Indian with our Kiwi friend tonight. It's funny Gayle, but B seems to like food with a much stronger flavour at the moment and it seems to be either marmite or brown sauce with just about everything, oh, and also Butterscotch Angel Delight! What's a haggis supper, and smoked sausage? They both sound really tasty.

Hello to everyone else. I'll catch up with you all later and no doubt will have a lot more to say.

    Carrie x

    Hello All,

Gayle & Lesley - whats with all this take-away banter so early in the day...makes my salad look sooooooo appetising (have ran 20k this week, need to get back in to training for 10ks this summer...will be enjoying pizza and beer later though ;o) )

Was really just popping on to say hello and wish Gayle a happy holiday, hope you Martin and Martine have a wonderful family break :)

Lesley - hope dad feels a better soon, i like you have noticed a dramatic difference. Dad is constantly tired now..he and mum went to Oban and dad had to sit down most of the time while mum walked around (they were with their friends though so dad always had someone to chat to and mum got a bit of a breather) they have been away for two days and according to mum , he has been most unsetteld.

I think we have to admit defeat with SA - Its now highly unlikely that it will happen as not one insurance company will take us owing to the length of flight.

Ah well.. im off for a walk around buch st on this lovely spring day.

    Wishing everyone as peaceful weekend.
