Carrie you are amazing. What a beautiful send off you gave B and there are obviously so many people who cared so much about him. I can see he will be missed enormously. You have been amazing and what you have done for him over these difficult months has been very special. You take care of yourself and take time to grieve your loss. Thank you for letting us know how the day went. Big big hugs xxx

Emma we are all thinking of you and your family today xxx

Carrie - What a beautiful send off you gave B. Im so pleased it turned out just the way you wanted it too. Over the last few months you gave us a picture of B and he souned such a special man who retained his sense of humour....which still prevailed in the coconuts song! 200 people is such a huge amount of people...he was obviously very well thought of and loved. You too are a very special lady who done everything possible for your man. I have always enjoyed reading your posts and hope that you can still come back and visit us who are on a different part of the journey from time to time...only if you feel up to it of course. Thanks for sharing, it brought a lump to my throat!. Big hugs to you. xxx

Emma - thinking of you and the girls today my friend. Sending you lots of strength to get through today and big hugs. xxx

Love to everyone else, hope the weekend is peaceful for you all.

    Carrie,

I was so moved and impressed by your account of the send off you gave for your dear B and it even raised a smile or two when I read about his choice of song. Paul has already told me that he wants to be cremated and that he wants the song "Smoke gets in your eyes" to be played! It really is quite humbling how these men of ours can continue to show such cheekiness and sense of humour. The fact that so many turned out to help you celebrate the life of your man shows how much he was loved and respected and I hope you can draw some comfort from that in the months ahead.

Lesley, sorry to read that your Dad isn't too good. I know just how that feels at the moment. Having to worry about both significant men in my life at the same time is quite a load to carry sometimes but I try to keep strong for them both. I do have the GP appointment about (and later with) Paul this afternoon and then I am off up to Liverpool tomorrow morning to see my Dad.

    Sad times indeed.

    Love to all,

    Susan

Sallye I just wanted to say thank you so much for your kind offer a few pages back and sorry for not responding sooner. I don't think my Dad is too near to you (Frenchay must cover quite a wide area). He is now having follow up etc. in Bath. Thank you so much for such a kind kind offer for someone you don't know. How lovely : )

    Hi everyone

Thank you for your kind words. I'm still smiling.

Emma - I've been thinking of you all and hope your day went as well as mine. I am trying to draw strength from the love and affection that everyone had for B and I'm trying to focus on the fact that I was so lucky to have found the love that I did, something which a lot of people never have the privilidge of doing.

I will keep posting. Although I am now at a different stage of my journey, you are all such special people and I would still feel a little lost without you.

Love and huge hugs to you all.

    Dear Carrie
Your description of yesterday was lovely, so good to have so many people to support you, and what a great idea to have friends sharing memories. You have been amazingly strong through very difficult times, I know there will be tough times ahead but the love you shared will sustain you and nothing can ever take that away. I hope you do continue to post on here whenever you want to - we would miss you otherwise! But don't worry if/ when the time comes that you feel you need to move on and away from the world of BTor if it just becomes to painful, you just have to do what is right for you.

Dear Emma, thinking of you today, hope things went as well as they could, hold your girls close. xxx

Susan, hope today's appointment was fruitful, and that you find your dad ( and mum!) a bit better tomorrow.

Joan, hope you are ok, I'm guessing things are difficult, much love to you

Lesley, sorry to hear your dad is not so good again, you never seem to get much respite. Its hard when he won't really communicate how things really are with the doctors and nurses - my hubby was like that too!
Gayle, hope you are enjoying the caravan, you have been so lucky with the weather. Who needs Spain when we can have a caravan by the scottish seaside? - answer - we all do, the sea is too cold - though I have been known to swim off the west coast on a very hot day!

    love to all
