    Hi Lesley

Thank you, got blood tests done blood sugars are through the roof Martin has developed diabetets caused by the dex, he also has a bronchial infection, so he is now on antibiotics as well metformin for diabetice and i have a machine to check his bloods 4 times a day, they reckon down here this is why martin has been feeling so unwell, they also put his dex back uo to 4mg he has has been on only 1mg for the past month, i have dropped it back down to 2mg and no headaches thank god, we go home tonight and have appt with our own gp tomorrow and consultant on tuesday so we are keeping our fingers crossed, hope you your dad and the rest of your family are well too.

    Hi Gayle

Must be a bit of a relief to hear its more than likely an infection and the diabetes causing the headaches. Thats a good thing too that Martin's dex is quite a low dose - My dad's were 12mg and are now being reduced weekly during the radio - he's down to 6mg at the mo and Im always badgering him, checking he doesnt have headaches. Were just back from sunny blackpool and in the 2 days we were gone, all his hair on one side has completley fell out - bit of a shock, but as he says, hair is the least of his worries!
Hope all goes well with the consultant on tuesday.

    Hi to everyone,

Mo - so sorry to hear about your son. This awful disease is bad enough at any age, but to happen to someone so young seems even more unfair and so wrong.

Gayle - Blackpool was good - my 3 year old thought it amazing anyway! My dad continues to be fairly ok at the moment - three weeks into radio and the tiredness is now kicking in. I take it the strong dose of temodal is making Martin sleep? If he's resting I suppose it cant be a bad thing? We've no experience of chemo at all yet.

Hope everyone has a peaceful weekend - the weather in Edinburgh is horrendous today - in fact, the massive clatter I heard 10 minutes ago appears to be the roof of Amber's plastic house in the garden being blown off. oh dear!!

    Hi Lesley

Like you say all the sleep Martin is getting at the moment must be doing him good before the last few weeks he was hardly ever sleeping also its nice for me to get a wee rest to thank god all the erratic running about was wearing me out.

The weather here in ayrshire is just the same as edinburgh part of our garden fence has blown down and the roof off one of our sheds, thats all we need, Martin wants to go to our holiday caravan down the coast but the weather is really putting me off, he keeps falling asleep i dont know if we will go or not.

Hope you have a nice weekend in windy edinburgh.
