Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Pete, thinking of you and Ali, hope you get it all sorted in A&E.

Debs thinking of you as well.

Well my sister is actually going to be having Chemotherapy as well as Radiotherapy and starts both tomorrow! Chemotherapy in tablet form an hour before Radiotherapy but we're not sure for how long or how often because when she went hospital on Thursday her blood results were not back from Birmingham so a decision on Chemotherapy had not been made so her appointment with the Chemotherapy department was also cancelled. But then at 4.30 on Thursday Dr phoned and said yes you will be having Chemotherapy starting Monday. So we'll find out more tomorrow!

Saw her yesterday went out for lunch with the family and she looked so well than the last time I saw her. A little tired but so much healthier and happier!!

Love and support to you all!

Sending all the strength I can muster to Pete and his lovely wife.

Thanks everyone for the information. Keep it coming, please !

R never underestimate what your input to this forum means to a BT novice like myself. Any snippet of info regardless of how insignificant it may seem to you could be of .huge benefit to me and others who have yet to start their journeys. Besides, how could you deprive yourself of such scintilating company ?

Illowe - good to hear about your sister, sounds like she will start TMZ (temazolomide) with the RT tomorrow.

Debs - thinking of you today, hope Buttercup behaves and you have a simple infection.

Pete - hope A & E sort Ali out quickly and that you are soon back home.

    Love to all Joanna xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Wow - fast reply, thank you.

Best wishes to Pete and Ali. - and everybody else

llowe - hope the RT and chemo get off to a good start. Be ready for your sister to become more and more tired as this goes on.

As promised (threatened) me in my mask being zapped (btw it is painless but can be a bit claustrophobic).

My nose is not really a big as it looks, honest.

This is what happens part way through your hair falling out. This one neatly bordering the scar as well. Once it got to this stage I just got the hairdresser at the hospital to cut the rest off - much neater. Unfortunately a lot of the area you can see there has not grow back, yet.

That is enough of the freak show for now!

    Best wishes to all.

Thank you guys for your messages of support today.

The medical team there managed to get her sugar back up again, but sadly she passed away early this afternoon with her family around her.  She was peaceful and alseep and simply ceased to breathe.

She is at last free of the terrible indignity of this disease.

    She will love me evermore.

So sorry Pete, believe me I feel your pain, your hurt and the shock of the suddenness in which this illness can take our Soulmate away.

At least  Ali ended her life like Steve....asleep and pain free....what more could we ask for.

Please try to take things one day at a time, it will be a bag of mixed emotions for you.  A state of disbelief, anger and failure to understand why this has happened to Ali and the tears will flow - let them.

I am determined to do all I can to help in the fight against this b*****d illness, it takes only the best and after Steve's funeral tomorrow, I will make a start.

Thinking of you Pete, it's not easy.

    Love Debs xxx

    Dear Pete

I don't post very often but follow everyone on this thread as my sister passed away frm GBM last September. I am so sad to read your post this evening. A true love story and the love you showed to your darling Ali is a testament to that. Thinking of you xxx

Pete, I am sending love, strength & virtual hugs......I had to read your post three times before I knew I had got it right.  Peace be the journey Ali, whatever and wherever it may take you xxx

My balance problem has lessened over the day to a point where I haven't noticed it all, must be the threat of phoning Kim....my headaches do a runner with the same threat.

Off to watch some trashy tv with my family (I'm A Celeb starts tonight, I know I know, but I don't watch FixFactor so I let myself watch this one)..........although having had steak for dinner, my boys are all trying to increase the hole in ozone layer with their own methane gas!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I might go to bed early and watch it there.......ALONE!

Once again, extra love & strength to all who want or need it on another sad day for the train.
