Partner diagnosed with bowel cancer

My partner had a colonoscopy and they couldn’t get it through his bowel as there is a large tumour which is cancer. He is booked in for scans to determine spread and staging but I’m going out of my mind with worry. What if it’s terminal? What if it’s through the whole bowel and spread to the liver or lungs? He’s 64 and I love him dearly and my mind is just going out of control worrying about everything. Any advice on getting through the what ifs and the total she’ll shock?

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that your husband has recently been diagnosed with cancer and it's natural to feel worried and upset about the diagnosis. Macmillan has this useful information on your feelings when someone has cancer which you might find helpful to look through.

I haven't been in your position, as I was the one with cancer, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
