My mum has vulva cancer, had surgery x2 and radio+chemo but the cancer is still active in lymph nodes of the groin and now one in the pelvis. They are offering a chemo only now and saying theirs not much more they can do after this and surgery is not an option, is there still hope for mum or is this just going to prolong her life a little? I’m at a loss looking for hope which seems a hopeless situation I’m heart broken.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your mum has been diagnosed with vulva cancer and it's natural to worry whether it's curable or not.

I haven't had this type of cancer but I'm sure if you join and post your questions in the vulva cancer forum the ladies there will be happy to share their experiences of treatment, etc with you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
