Hi everyone,
I wrote somewhere else as well but I think this might be a good place to write as well. My dad had lung cancer in 2021 and only needed one op cause it was contained. He had a review 2 weeks ago and a new mass has shown up in his right lung looking likely that it’s back but he also has fluid in his right lung which needs to be drained. So right now we’re waiting for his drainage and biopsy appointment which is at the end of the month which seems miles away. At the moment he’s so uncomfortable and struggling to sleep at night I just want to know has anyone else experienced this with a loved one and was there anything they did or used to make them feel better or more comfortable while they waited?
I have been calling to see if they can make push his appointment forward I’m just waiting to hear back, the waiting, the not knowing is so frustrating I can’t imagine what it’s like for him.
Best wishes

hi Zee.
I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is having a tough time. It sounds very frustrating for you both. I don't really have any advice as to how to help your Dad as we have only just had my Mum's diagnosis within the past few weeks so just trying to navigate through the shock of it all.
I completely agree about the waiting and not knowing, as I feel that it's the worst part at the moment. Mum had her PET-Ct scan last week but has to wait until next week now for her to have her EBUS scan. It seems like an eternity!
I hope you hear from his team soon!
Hi
Thank you so much for your reply, they’re going to do it at the end of next week I did read in one of his letters that there’s also evidence of rib invasion whatever that means but it’s scared me! I don’t wanna think negatively because I don’t know anything yet apart from the fluid! Not knowing is the worst part.
I hope your mum hears some news very soon, remember to always think positively as that’s what I’m intending to do! I’m sending my best wishes to you and your mum!
