Hi. My husband has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. We're seeing a specialist on Thursday 4th and hopefully we'll be told how to proceed. Hubby had a c.t. scan 3 weeks ago and a tumour was seen in his bladder. He's getting pelvic pain every day now and he's trying to control it with paracetamol. I'm trying my best to look on the bright side and keep his spirits up, but I'm scared and I have no one to talk to. Our daughter isn't in the best of health either and although I've mentioned hubby's problem, I've not told her everything as she has anxiety and I fear it'll make her worse. Thank you for letting me be part of this forum. Sorry this is so long.
His timeliness is this : August 11th he had what was thought to be a U.T.I. saw Dr. Given antibiotics for 1 week. One week later, no change so given 3 weeks antibiotics.
September, U.T.I. Still there. Urine sample given. More antibiotics. Sample showed bacteria. Different antibiotics given.
October. U.T.I. okay. First 3 weeks he was fine. Last week, 28th U.T.I. back. Dr. seen again. Sample given once more. Hubby having difficulty passing urine. Slight pain in lower back.
November 14th saw Dr. Given pills to help as now passing urine constantly. Night time hubby up every half hour passing small amounts of urine. End of month, Dr. Refers him to hospital for c.t. scan. Pelvic and groin pain slight.
December. C.T. scan. 10th December. Hubby now trying to control fluid intake. 1.5 - 2 ltrs daily. None after 6.30pm. Nightime better. But pelvic and groin pain elevated. Result of scan came on 27th. Small tumour found in bladder. Slight blockage in urinary tract. Referral to specialist for 4th January.
