Losing a parent as a young person

Hi gladiatorspirit I am so sorry for what you are going through, you are still very young and loosing a parent at your age must be so very painful especially as you live at home with them.

What I would do is make sure you say anything you need to say now so that you don't have any regrets later and just try and spend what time you have left together as best you can depending on what you can both cope with.

If you need to talk to someone other than family and friends you can always talk to MacMillan - the number is at the bottom of my post.

It will be difficult and I really feel for you but you can and you will get through it.

Sorry to hear about your situation, my mum has just been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and she’s in hospital, every day since she’s been diagnosed less than a week ago I’ve been to see her and she seems like she’s wasting away in from of me, I’m 21 years old and she’s been a big part of my life and I’m confused on how to deal with it, apparently it’s untreatable and essentially a death sentence, chemo is an option but only to slow down her cancer and maybe prolong her life, I think me and you are in the same boat my friend. :(
