Hi. I'm in the middle of tests following a IDA result from a fit test. Had a CT and have Endos due Saturday. I'm just feeling so anxious and scared. Any coping methods anyone has found useful?
Hello JohnnyHeelM,
A warm welcome to Macmillan, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join and to hear that you are struggling with anxiety and fear as you go through tests.
This is perfectly normal and we all go through it, but some of us find it difficult to deal with for various reasons, sometimes needing help or just someone to talk to.
I encountered it when I was undergoing tests but was able to deal with it by finding distractions such as keeping busy, hobbies or getting on with jobs round the house.
First, if you are in need of someone to talk to please contact the macmillan helpline. The number and open hours is below.
Other resources you can access include the NHS website on anxiety, Macmillan local support (if in your area - check using your postcode on the link below) or your local Maggies Centre who offer great support. Links to all are below.
I do hope you can find your way through this difficult patch.
All the best,
Derek.
