Hi. I have an endoscopic ultrasound and biopsy for pancreas booked on Monday and I’m so scared. I’m scared of the procedure and that it makes all this real. I am so anxious I can’t sleep, eat or function. I’m wasting precious time I should be spending with my family and friends just falling apart! My family are trying to be supportive but I know I’m not being easy to cope with.
Hi Amma sorry to hear about your concerns…… I have had a lot of invasive procedures over my 25+ years on my cancer journey but not specifically this one.
These procedures are unfortunately an important part of investigation process.
I had always found ‘talking’ my concerns through helped…. I see you are active in the Pancreatic cancer group but this is not actually ‘talking’
You may find it helpful to call the Macmillan Support Line that us open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… as this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.
Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
