Hey,
I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in January 2024 at the ages of 32. It has also spread to my liver. So I have just started to chemotherapy to treat the liver lesions. As I had surgery on my bowel to remove the cancer from there
I’m just reaching out for some support and advice. I am noticing that I am a lot more angry and frustrated at the world around me. Losing my temper a lot. (Shouting at my wife) when I feel like I’m not being listened to or heard. I just feel like everyday is a struggle and no matter how much support my wife, family and friends are offering I just push them away as I feel like they don’t get it or what’s going on in my head right now.
I just don’t know what to do or how to feel right now.
Any support, advice or even reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
E
Hi mate , was slightly better than expected but still really bad . My kidney is huge but because of my age etc there gonna send me to guys and hopefully get my kidney and part my liver out also probably lymph nodes and sort out a vein. It wjll be done via open surgery as well so a nice big scar haha . It’s gonna be complex but it’s given me and my wife some hope . Then there will be immunotherapy as well . Now it’s just waiting on if they want to do a biopsy beforehand or straight in to surgery I guess this all depends on guys . Thanks for reaching out x
Kyle8!!
Wow, I'm very much glass half full and I'm taking your news as positive! Yes, a big operation ahead of you (and no doubt a few bumps along the way) but certainly must be feeling a whole lot better than you were yesterday! I think your age is definitely on your side and I'll take a scar any day!!
Keep in touch and sending love and strength to you and your wife x
Hi Kyle8 , good to hear you are getting surgery and a plan in place. Focus on keeping yourself strong both physically and mentally. I hope you have a good support network around you, although i find myself , that I spend my time trying to protect them, or simply that they dont understand. How could they ? You are among friends on this forum that will have a plethora of experience, can offer advice and comfort. Sending you & your wife my prayers and love
Much love Angela x
