I am new to the group decided it was time i got support from people who are going through what i am going through and hopefully support others.  I have secondary breast cancer in my lung finished treatment in October for the second time . This past week i have been ill convincing my self its the cancer come back .. the symptoms are more like a gasric bug .. not been able to eat even thou all the other symptoms have gone , im not really an anxious person as i keep busy doing stuff . But my anxiety has been through the roof waking up  the first thought is Cancer its getting me down

  • Aw I’m sorry to hear that … hopefully , you’ll get a treatment plan soon but it’s so fear inducing waiting isn’t it … x

  • Red Deb, sounds  like you've been through a lot and time is needed to recover.  The initial diagnosis is bad enough but when it returns it's so scary.  I don't believe there's ever a time after the first diagnosis that we don't worry about it returning hon.

You're in a kind of no man's land having finished treatment and now I guess waiting on a regime of scans and other checks to see if the treatment has worked.  The security of the treatment and seeing staff regularly is over and now you're on your own. It's bloody frightening isn't it?  I know that the Highlander often recommends reading a paper by Peter Harvey-- called "when the treatment is over- what happens now". It certainly gives me something to look at and re-read bits as I need to.  There's no easy answers to this one. There is a forum on here called ' life after treatment ends' which I'm also on , you might find that helpful. Of course there's also the breast cancer forum too plus one for people who have secondary deposits if cancer. You may find some others who feel similar.  Don't expect too much of yourself right now, be kind to you and recover. Our bodies and minds take a pounding and need to get well. Xx

  • Red Deb, I apologise for my previous post.  I replied to your original post and do not remember reading your post about the results of your emergency brain MRI.  I'm so sorry to hear this news and hope that a good and effective treatment plan is arranged for you very soon. Take care xx

  • Hi love how are you doing ? Any news on a treatment plan for you ? X
