Hi Since my Kidney Cancer Diagnosis , I’ve got these awful very dark moods ! Had nothing like them before ! Sense of despair , loneliness as well !
Delphine ! I am getting help through Counseling, I wish I could be the old me again !
Hi Delphine
I'm sorry to hear that you had Kidney cancer and that you are struggling. It's good that you are having counselling it should help you. It's perfectly understandable that you are feeling low. Getting a cancer diagnosis is life changing. Have you started treatment yet?
Wishing you the best of luck with everything.
Best wishes

Hi Daisy , Thanks for your lovely e mail ! Yes I have had Kidney removed in July ! It was Renal Cell Carcinoma ! Fortunately it was confined inside the kidney , it was a very large tumour ! The Surgeon said all went very well ! Yes it has changed me completely ! It’s been the shock and every emotion under the sun ! I will have to have scans every few months for the rest of my life now ! I’m praying the cancer doesn’t return and trying to keep positive ! Moods so up and down though ! Hope you are well in your self Daisy ! Thanks so much indeed x
Hi Delphine and welcome to the community.
I’m glad you are getting counselling to help with how you are feeling-I found it very useful for me. A cancer diagnosis changes us, turns our life upside down, and it’s natural to feel as you do I think. It’s very difficult to be positive all of the time, and there are times we just find that too hard.
You may find it useful to join the kidney cancer group to chat with others who have been through the same diagnosis and surgery, and you can find it here:

Its not been very long since your surgery and you’re bound to have all sorts of emotions. I hope the counselling will help, and also talking with others who understand.
Sarah xx
Hi Sarah ,
Thanks so much for your kind words and thoughts ! The more I hear people are going through the same emotions , I don’t feel so alone ! I hope your are on the right track your self now ! One day I feel reasonable then the next day in floods of tears to utter despair !
Start Councelling Tuesday 6 , through Kidney Cancer UK , with a trained Psychotherapist .
I’ve been dragging my self out ( not doing too much of course ) , but so hard when these black moods come on !
Anyway I’ll see how the counseling goes Sarah !
Have a lovely day your self ! I’m popping to the shops ( food shop ) but the evenings are very long indeed !
Thanks so much again Sarah
Take Care now

Hi Delphine
You need never feel alone now you’ve found the community here. We understand the feelings and emotions, and I completely get where you’re coming from with going from feeling ok to feeling overwhelmed. I hope the counselling will help-I found it so helpful to be able to unload all my feelings to a comforting stranger. I couldn’t see him as it was on the phone, but he had a gentle voice, let me say what I wanted, and cry if I needed to-which was every time! And he made me look at things differently sometimes because he wasn’t emotionally involved.
It will do you good to get out when you can, but don’t push yourself too much, and that’s an amazing thing to be able to do when you are feeling low. I think you must be stronger than you think!
I have visitors arriving shortly for the day, but I will pop on later. I’m around every day and always up for a chat if you need a virtual friend.
Take good care of yourself, and hope you have a good day.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
