My husband has Glioblastoma and Im finding it really difficult right now. Im his full time carer, but recently he has changed. He is getting up and just lying on the sofa, sleeping most of the day. He doesnt make conversation anymore and does absolutely nothing for himself. He actually just lies on sofa until i get up and then asks me to make him a drink. He does nothing in the house. I know this might sound selfish but he is still able to do daily activities. I am stuck with him 24/7 and it is draining the little life i have left out of me. I have just had a diagnosis of fibromyalgia myself so im struggling to deal with this and he has no sympathy for me. Im practically at breaking point and dont know what to do anymore
hi Can't Cope,.
I'm a bit tired now but if you want to throw some words at me I'll read and reply on the morning if that's ok ?
You doing great and I can see you ️
Oh no that sounds really draining on you. Are there any other family members who can come over and sit with him whilst you get out for a few hours?
What would happen if you didn’t make his drink? I presume he would have to make it himself.
It’s really hard when they’re feeling down- we take the brunt. I’m sure you’re going an amazing job xxxxxxx
Hi. Im so hurt and upset. My GP referred me for counselling and I told my husband and he has got so angry. Told me im pathetic and a whinge and im never happy. If he had known I was going to be like this he wouldn't have married me. Ive done everything I possibly can for him and he has no idea the weight im carrying on my shoulders x
Im actually lying in bed as I just dont want to be next to him right now. He has hurt me so much today, telling me he wouldn't have married me if I was going to be like this. All because I told him I was going to counselling. If I didn't make his drink he would probably do without. I dont regret looking after him but he's changing and he's becoming selfish. What's worse is he's nice to everyone else xxx
