Not sure this is the right forum to post about pip but could do with some advise , my husband is on pip due to having throat cancer 8 years ago, the cancer as returned and is on the end of life register and prognosis is 12 months maybe more with treatment, my question is do I tell pip about the new diagnosis and risk him losing the only benefit he as or tell them and maybe they will increase it, I know some might think a strange question considering.
Thanks
Hiya, I'm not an expert so please give Macmillan a ring over this. As far as I am aware, completion of the SR1 form by dr or cancer nurse will give him the higher amount if he isn't already getting it. The SR1 is for people thought to have 12 months or less to live. It bypasses the usual assessment period.
Its not a strange question, financial worries are a big deal for many so every little helps.
