Hi I'm new here and my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer a few weeks ago, this is his second time as he was cancer free 8 years up until now, we've been told that due to it being harder to treat the cancer it treatable but not curable, without treatment he would have 6 to 12 months (that's very hard to write and say out loud ), with chemo an extra 4 months , or he could have immunotherapy Pembrolizumab to prolong his life, we've decided to have immunotherapy which he starts his first cycle next Friday,
What I can't get in my head is that it's not curable and only palliative care , I don't want to lose my husband we've been together 44 ,I'm struggling to be positive but I need to be supportive for my husband
Jenny
