My dad has had blood cancer for 5 years and my mum has been his main carer. On Tuesday she was diagnosed in the ED with pancreatic cancer. I live 3 hrs away and I just don’t know how I am going to manage all this. I’m just devastated.
Hi Clo
It sounds really difficult especially having to deal with two so different cancers. Given a diagnosis in ED I guess it will be a little while before your mum gets a reasonably good handle on how her cancer has developed.
What can help is getting a needs assessment since that can highlight any direct support that might be needed.
It can be really dificult when our loved ones are daignosed with cancer, do post on here whenever as someone is always listening but remember that if it helps you are welcome to ring the helpline here 0808 808 0000 it is open 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.
<<hugs>>
Steve
