My daughter was diagnosed almost a year ago and is on Watch &Wait. She feels unwell but also that she has been left to get on with it and is fobbed off when she phones her cancer dept to say she is in pain and exhausted. How can I help her. We don’t see the specialist until the end of the month. This will be the first visit since February. How do we know the cancer hasn’t spread since then. My daughter feels very alone and frightened. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks
hi Budgiemum
I can only imagine what it must be like to have a child with cancer as in our instance it is my wife with Leiomyosarcoma. Looking at the treatment pages here though I can see that watch and wait is often used in NHL.
It might help to post in Non-Hodgkin lymphoma forum as they may be able to provide some more support about how treatment might progress. We also have a good thread on here about the feelings of loneliness.
<<hugs>>
