Just came home to find my husband on the floor bleeding. He is terminal and has many open tumors from his groin to his knees. He had fallen for the first time as he's been using a stick and has very limited mobility. I was so scared. He's also on blood thinners so there was lots of blood. Fortunately the district nurses came quickly and helped to redress the wounds but I am really worried about what the future holds. I have started to work part time and in so glad otherwise the kids would have found him when they got home from school.
Hey YT3,
Oh dear how scary!
I work in hospital and wonder if you could get some red towels to have at home in case this happens again. They will be way less frightening to mop up with as they are already red etc. And maybe store them in a one of those plastic tubs so they are ready to go. And have a conversation with the kids about what may happen so they are forewarned- ? Perhaps both of you could talk to them so that they are as prepared as possible for this.
Hope you are coping otherwise
Sounds very tough-
Love,T.
