I look after my hubby, he had a catheter put in which caused bleeding and clots and extreme fluid loss due to kidneys being so strained from no urination over weeks, anyway they say the catheter when put in went through the tumour causing blood etc, now two days later the urine is bypassing the catheter, Any suggestions...... If they have to redo it they will have to put him to sleep, I am hoping for a simple fix like backwashing etc ..Any Nurses here.
Not a nurse, but hubby in nursing home has similar problem, of urine bypassing the catheta. The solution in his case at the moment is for nursing staff to flush out the catheta tube. This is solving the problem at the moment, but hubby has been told it might not always work.
