I definitely think you should do cucumber sandwiches, on nice fresh thin bread with the crusts cut off! How about little strawberry tarts in pastry cases with cream yum and of course scones and cream ( you could always cheat and get some from Marks. Made my mouth water now.

Wow how lovely to have lots of cooks. I haven't made strawberry jam for a few years now. We used to go and pick the strawberries and we ate so many while we were picking them we had to make the rest into yummy jam and freeze some for later.

I was renowned for my cakes and tarts and pies but since Ray became ill I haven't had the heart to bake, I don't really even cook much any more. Hence Marks and Spencer's.

Look forward to the left overs xx.

I love baking, I just baked a load of bread and rolls so my hubby won't run out of bread whilst I am in hospital  I had a Sainsbury delivery today as well so the freezer is full of pizza etc.

Heis quite capable of looking after himself, but when you are working, hospital visiting etc.. You dont have the energy to do much else.

Can't remember the last time i baked but i do know the last time i made bread was when i was at school & i'm not even going to think how many years ago that was

Thank you all for your ideas & help,i'll have to have a trip to peterborough & a look round lakeland, mind you last time i was in there i didn't get anything connected to baking,i spent a fortune on crackers (because they had an elf racing game) & toys for the tree presents from the cat to everybody that was here on boxing day

I always get overwhelmed in Lakeland as there is so much lovely stuff. I usually look on the website first so I can find out what it might be I want. You can also get on the mailing list for a catalogue. I can promise I don't work for them haha

I love baking bread it is very therapeutic. I also love biscuits, they don't keep long in our house though.
