Sipping a wild apple and cinnamon tea to try to counteract side effects of yesterday's treatment, think it poured with rain this afternoon but missed it as was asleep, hoping I begin to feel better by tonight!

Hope everyone's weekend is going well

Yes that pie sounds lovely! Glad you got out I managed a short walk and looked around the garden at the clematis buds about to flower, just need some warm weather which I hear is forecast!

It is lovely to have support from other people and I hope you get out tomorrow

  • Phew, the first of May, and the weather at last seems as if it's going to gradually improve.

Opening the lovely bifold doors of this room, to bring in cooler but flower-scented air from the beautiful garden. The wood burning stove won't let the room get too cold though, it's a great place to sit and contemplate!

Coffee is on, kettle is hot and the faeries still have fresh warm croissants for any late comers.

    Hugs to you all xxx

I'm so glad the faeries have croissants, I went out earlier and got some more wood for the stove... it's so toasty in here now. Going to snuggle on the couch and have a hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows...mmmm.

Anyhow, I hope all had a good weekend

1am in the morning me doing my normal mini freakout.

now I mark my 38 days in hospital ... what a nightmare experiance for me .

besides being switched around 5 different wards, 2 different hospitals .. it has taught me more patience and more dread .

depression  is horrible .. no-one I can find to understand around me .

family don't .. friends can't .. I've met some nice people in hospital the nurses have been a wonder and they do their best to cheer me up . but living with cancer at 32 .. where it came out of no-where .. no warning no signs just a simple pneunomia that took 3 weeks to drain before they discovered  a mass .. that alone was bad enough in  constant pain/discomfort due to the draining process,  I kept draining and it wouldn't  go Down 7 litres in  the end.

the lack of sleep alone had given me twitches like mad really hard to type anything on mobile phone and genrallly everything .

well my mini rant is over now time to try that thing called sleep ..

thanks for redmading makes me feel less alone and isolated
  • Sorry you were feeling so low, Hamster lunga, hope having a rant here helped you rest.

Yesterday for me was a bit rough. This is nothing cancer-wise but might be a cardio-vascular problem......

I had noticed a spot in left eye that is greyish, sight drops off in that area, and had a sort of flowery shape. I am at risk of retinal detachment so was really concerned. Because our local hospital only has a weekday eye clinic, and not an eye A&E, I decided to train it to Moorfields, fast trains from here are that, fast. Was there in amazing time. Son came with me too so I wasn't alone. It seems my cataract is now ready and a rare type, with a solid small area which may well explain the strange grey spot I'm seeing, but it might also have been a mini eye 'stroke' so I will be investigated fast locally in case carotid arteries are furred up. That can be dealt with by an operation.

The most thorough eye exam I have ever had in my regular check ups (6 monthly since I have a minor problem, keratoconus, that needs checking regularly)

So all a bit scary, really, but if it was an eye stroke then it's possibly a good early warning. So I've popped some healthy salad things into the fridge, together with strawberries and meringue. There's cream too, ready to make Eton Mess if you wish!

Help yourselves ......thinking of you all,

    Hugs xxx

Hugs Moomy and Hamster. I too hope things look better today.

The weather here seems to have settled. We managed a little walk this afternoon,  Hubby is involved in the Community Orchard and so we walked into the village and back via the Orchard. The early apples are just Starting to blossom, it was a pleasant walk and also a celebration that two years ago,  at my worst, I was staggering around on two sticks and struggling with the stairs. So whilst I am not quite out of the woods, things are looking good.

I go to clinic tomorrow so might find out more about my last heart scan which showed reduced function. I dont really believe it as I am so much more active. We shall see.

We sat outside before dinner with a g and t. I have put some ice in the freezer and tonic in the fridge, gin and lemon on the side so please join me in celebrating spring and the onset of summer. Thinking of those here who are struggling and sending warm wishes to all. Cheers

  • Just to let you lovely folk know all is fine! I've had my urgent appointment, and been discharged! No carotid artery problems, it is 'just' a cataract! Blood pressure was up again, (oh come on, hospital, I was bricking it again!) so might need a 24 hour check and maybe meds, but that's GP.

Hugs to you all, opened the big bifold doors as the garden is looking beautiful, spring flowers and blossom all over the place, and the birds are looking for nesting places.....

    hugs to you all xxx
