Great news, Ian and Lynda, even if it doesn't feel like it.  2016 is a year of new beginnings. I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.

I will be raising a glass at ten past eight tonight to Jon, and also pausing for a moment to reflect on all my good friends, real, virtual, and those who were virtual that I have now met, who have helped me get through this year. I couldn't have done it without having all of you there to help.

I am glad Christmas is over. It has been a mixed affair of pleasure and immense sadness. My family have been wonderful but I think it had an emotional toll on all of us. Everything now seems very gloomy.

I raise a glass to all of you who have been my comfort and help through this very difficult time and hope that we soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thinking of you and Jon Linda and looking forward to meeting again and happier days.

Carol you have been a Joy to talk to.

Moomy I Hope all goes well with you and yours.

    Gillian and Jakki keep well.

    Jasmin, love and hugs.

I must look forward to a New Year but be honest and say I wish it was not to be a year without Ray in it.

WARM (((hugs ))) to all who need them.

    Onwards and upwards xxxxx

Very bad, sad year for all of us in different ways.  I will raise a glass to everyone who has helped me this year.  Unfortunately for me 2016 will probably be worse than 2015.  I have been struggling this christmas with very bad cold which I think has turned to bronchitis, not been able to sleep so have been trying to sleep in the chair so I dont disturb Mick too much.  I have only bèen able to cook dinner for the last 2 days, but at least I have been able to rest.  Mick is coughing quite a lot and goes from very quiet to very bad tempered.  I bite my tongue and find something to do.

Not really in the best frame of mind - sorry.

Will be thinking of you tonight Lynda.  Hope you feel a bit brighter soon Christine.

Love and hugs to you all.

    Jasmin xx

    So sorry Jasmin.

It is so hard to cope when you feel really poorly yourself. Glad you are able to rest but please  seek medical help as soon as you can.

I understand how miserable you must feel and it is hard to be patient and gentle amidst silence and anger.

Keep resting, keep strong. Thinking of you with love xxx

  • Oh Jasmin, so sorry you are this poorly, do seek medics if it doesn't improve very fast, you shouldn't take risks with bronchitis.

Thinking of everyone who has had losses and those who may be facing some, as we near the end of 2015. I know that nothing will 'cheer you up' as there are some losses far too great to just cast aside and try to begin again.

I hope that 2016 will be kind to us all and those who are sorrowful will find comfort.

Thinking of Jasmin, Christine, Keith, Lynda, and too, Carol,  Jakki, Mark, and anyone else my post-Christmas exhausted brain cannot remember.

( yes, it was good with all family together at daughter's but as usual I did lots of the work! - she might well be selling to move south this next year so it might be her last Christmas in her lovely home.)

    Hugs xxx

    Hi everyone,

Hope we are all recovering from our assorted germs/bugs, etc. This is a funny time of  when we struggle to know what day it is, or is that just me?!!

All the new Christmas clothes washed, I'll leave the ironing for another time...

Our grandson had a ball with all his new toys (we didn't spoil him too much, we were warned from his Mummy!!). He's just turned 3 and ,he loves to pretend he is a Superhero, be it Spiderman, Batman, Captain America or whoever. We ate well, drank only a little and chilled with the in-laws.

More importantly, we got some good photos of Grandad with our wee guy.. these will be in our hearts forever..

I usually wish everyone a happy new year, but it just doesn't seem appropriate any more, knowing why we are all on this site, don't know what to say, but I am thinking of all my cyber friends here.

Like Sister Snail I want to wish everyone all the best. We are off to a New Years Eve dinner and will celebrate the New Year for whatever it brings. I go to be scanned for radiotherapy next week, but today is a party day, so off we go to celebrate the fact that chemo is over, 2016 is another year with no doubt fresh challenges.

I have started looking at holiday brochures and cruise schedules for 2016, trying to live life to the full, life is so very precious.

Best wishes and love to all those feeling sad today, hugs to you all.

Also a thought to all those in hospital and the dedicated staff who work 24/7 365 days a year to care for them.
