    Hello all!

Seems you've all been doing well, holidays, weddings, football, beer... all sounding good and positive!

I think I'm still reeling and recovering from my weekend, wel, long weekend... Exceptionally good but tiring.

The day at the spa was amazing; afterwards we had a meal at the adjoining hotel, that was, err, on the Friday.
Saturday William came into town, and he, Karrin and I did some sight-seeing, as she'd not been here before; bit overly busy as the weather was good and the tourists still everywhere. We had lunch whilst out.

Then Sunday night William came back into town, and we went for an evening meal; karrin was getting a really early flight Monday morning so it was easier I didn't stay with her that night, and so William and I went back to mine...

The one big supprise, at least to anyone who knew me; I had a haircut! in an actual barbors!- First time in over twenty years! - the last time I had my hair cut I'd have been I think about 14 years old!

Well, it had gotten a bit odd to say the least; before chemo it was down to my waist, and then I didn't ever really lose it all, but it was sort of layered by the loss over the period I was having chemo, and not looking in great shape really.

So, Karrin marched me to a very old fashioned style Turkish barbours  and I have, well, a hair cut! - must try and get some pictures of it...

Only problem of course, now, no pony tail, I've no where to attach all the ribbons I accumulated during treatment! (those who don't know; I added one 1" wide, 3 foot long ribbon for each chemo infusion, and then one 1/2" wide, 3 foot long ribbon for each of the 15 radiation fractionations.... - ended up with 69 foot of ribbons... which didn't do much to make me look any less excentric....).

not sure now if I'll regrow my hair back, or just keep it short,- for now its just such a novalty having such short hair!

Back to reality this morning though, on phone to hospital, organising them, - they'd not realised about my port needing flushing this week, so now they've bought forward the date for the opperation to remove the port; Though I'm still trying to blackmail the hospital, into letting me know my MRI scan results, before I let them take the port out... - Not best pleased with my hospital really...

But, that'll get sorted this week, I'm sure one way or another - I have ways of making them talk....

    now...

    Anyone want choclates?:

I've a selection here, from Sweden... and I've no clue what any of them are!

*puts down two large boxes of chocolate and candy*

  • Just one photo so far, still working on shared albums....left to right, daughter (Best Lady), son, dog (Best Hound and ring bearer!), new son in law, his brother (Best Man) with his little girl

    Jasmin,

How is the tooth now? Hope those antibiotics are kicking in, have you tried clove oil? Sending gentle hugs xx

  • Jasmin, toothache is horrid, hope you are feeling relief from it now you are on antibiotics.......clove oil helps, as does spirits gently swirled around the tooth.

Jakki; yeh, I must get some photos organised, I think William took a couple of Karrin and I, which inclue my new hair-do, and I think Karrin also took some of William and me, when we went round the botanical gardens (slightly the wrong time of year but, I had to show Karrin more of Cambridge than just the inside of the hotel; we also made it round the Fitzwilliam museum - the first time I'd visited either too!)

Moomy; I should hire you in as a wedding organiser for  when William and I get   married; we've provisionally (at last) set a date now, of May coming... (thinking we can tie it in with a Swedish holiday so Karrin can attend (I want her to be best man.... of course!)

Jakki; yeh, I think, I'm certainly a lot more upbeat, even if still somewhat mystified by my hospitals inability to communicate; I've an opperation tomorrow morning at 10 AM to remove my portacath; but I'm still awaiting the MRI brain/pituitary gland scan results, - I've actually had to resort to blackmail now; have told vascular inserts, they can't do the op, unless I get the MRI results from hematology/oncology/radiology; seems to be working though; hospital actually phoned me this mornign! - after two weeks nagging them for the results... - to promise me, someone will phone later, to give me the results...- all being well with the MRI scan, I'll have the port removed tomorrow now, of course, if not, I guess I'll have to cconsider keeping the port for now, if I need further treatment etc... - I'm still feeling very rough a lot of the time,  tiredness, aching, brain-fog, etc, which is all new stuff to me, since starting treatment so I'm guessing must be related to the chemo/radiotherapy; still struggling now, especially as the whole oncology/hematoloty dept here, seems to have no specialist nurses at all anymore, so I've no one to contact at the hospital...- I so need to try get fit, my general fitness dropped so much since back in January...
Hmm... but, Karrin's visit at least proved I can muster energy for some things, and, err, the testosterone has somewhat restored me to my late-teens early twentys, in some respects....

Jasmin,- toothache sounds horrible! I can't say I recall ever having it as an adult, but I guess its about as much fun as it sounds, I.E., non whatsoever...

    I've bought some goodies;

mixed berries,s sliced melon and pineapple, and some unsweetened and fruit flavoured yoghurts (guess who's improving their diet right now by adding more fruit and veg?!)

and tea... of course... always tea!

Fruit & yogurt, very healthy in here tonight, not in a healthy mood tonight so i'll raid the biscuit tin with a cuppa

Sounds like you had a good weekend Mark & have lots of plans,i do love a good wedding & i wish you well with your plans for the future, looking forward to seeing photos of the new hair cut, pleased to hear you sounding happier

How's that tooth Jasmin,i find whiskey works rather well,if you swill it round & then swallow enough not only does it ease the tooth it helps you nod off & forget the pain for a while, how's hubby doing this week

Gosh Jakki you must have an awful mess to clean up but i'm sure it will all be worth it when you get the job done

How are you feeling Gillian, hope all's well with you

Hope you're having a lovely holiday Lynda

Moomy, are you recovered from the weekend yet

Christine, how are you my lovely lady

Special hugs to all who are having a torrid time at the minute & need them

Kittens are naughty as ever,Willow seems to get worse by the day,i looked out the window monday & there she was sat on top of the gate which is 6 foot, same as the fence, she made a very ungainly decent & almost landed on her nose,i think i'll need to take out insurance on that one, Medusa has now decided that she needs to go via 2 garden chairs & the clothes prop, which is laying on them, when she's racing ahead of you at meal times,i'm sure if Polly could talk she'd be saying "oh my lord, what did i do to deserve this pair" just befor i sat down to tea there was a knock on the door, when i opened it my little mate was there with her mum & she held a plant out to me & said "aprise" then passed me a box of champagne truffles,it was a late birthday present & thank you for everything i do for them, big hugs & a few tears in the kitchen when nobody could see me

Well my lovelies i'm off to get in my pjamas & call it a day

    Love & hugs to all

    xx

Hello everyone,  thank you for your concern.

Dentitst wouldn't  take tooth out again, so more antibiotics, this is the 2nd time in  a few weeks that it has been painful enough to make me go to dentist in first place.

Asked dr if Mick could go on  low dose steroids as not on  any treatment now, he had pounding headache for over week, very unsteady on  his feet and couldn't walk, loss of appetite again, dr agreed and with 2 hours of taking first dose headache gone and able to get about a bit better, problem now is we both have a bad cold!!!!

Moomy, the photo of your family is lovely.
