Hi everyone! Jakki, those pics look so appealing! Especially when it's so cloudy here, please send us some sun!
Christine, glad you've booked! I know you will LOVE Paris!
Lynda, yes, seeing your decor will be great, but only bits, as Christine warns, photos of property on the net are easily used and acted on.....but if your decor is copied it has to be a compliment?
Gillian, hope that appointment goes well, thinking of you
Carol, I think we all have total faith in you, you'll just have to decide which job gives you most in the way of reward and satisfaction, together with time off, out of the many you'll be offered! I want a kitten but not when they are all grown up! Don't much like cats! Trouble is, kittens don't stay young for long enough!
Glad Mick is improving, Jasmin, hope it continues and you feel easier for him......
hugs to you all xxx
ps I must have been tired after yesterday, I just sat down after a morning at Bletchley Park, ate my salad and fell asleep for a few minutes! Need coffeeeeee! xxx
Moomy
Hi folks
Carol those kittens are adorable. I'd love one but our old cat wouldn't have it. She has 'issues'.
Stressful day today. Exam results. A friend texted me at 05.30 to say they were out. I waited on tenterhooks for daughter to appear. 08.00am she came out of her room laptop in hand tears running down her face. I feel awful that I've put everyone through a year of hell at such an important time for her.
I know there's no point worrying about things you can't change and I should just be glad she didn't fail them all but the guilt is gnawing at me like toothache. Doesn't help she has smarty pants friends who got all As lol!
Sorry for the moan.
x
Hi Weeble,
so sorry......that sounds really sad seeing her face. Could she re sit? Has she enough results to do what she wants? If it's any comfort, daughter now says she could have done much better if she had worked properly, but with a first class degree and distinctions in performance from her Music Conservatoire I don't think any better results earlier in her life would have made much difference.
Moan away, it's what we are here for!
Sending you big hugs xxx
Moomy
Thanks Moomy
Yes, I hope she's done enough. She's already picked the 5 subjects she wants to do for higher next year. She's ok for 4 of them but got a D in the other. Apparently they now consider D a pass (not like back in dark ages when I was at school). We'll have to check with the school though.
She is also musical. Wants to do a music degree and go into teaching or join an orchestra. She's definitely artistic rather than academic. Your daughter has done amazing!
It was hard for her watching so many others doing so well but then they haven't gone through what she has this year. I'm sure we're all the stronger for it and I'm still proud of her.
x
At least it's only one subject! I gather you are in Scotland? If she could or needed to resit it would be reasonable easy to do, they would surely let her onto highers, she'd just have to study a bit harder ready for the resit. Of course you are proud of her, she's done well considering she's been concerned about you, and helping you as and when she could!
Son went to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in Glasgow, (we all loved the city!) got a good degree from there too, daughter's was the Royal Northern in Manchester, both of them way north of here in the south east Midlands!
Hugs xxx

Hi Weeble
Bless you,it's so hard watching the people we love get so upset isn't it,i have none of my own but it's still very traumatic when friends children are getting results etc,one of our friends daughters failed all her exams last year & has had to do the whole lot again, the stepson on the other hand is a real smarty pants,we're now waiting for a level results, when i ask the other week when he gets them he said "no idea but i've got a really good job & i'm not going to uni so i don't need them" your daughter has done a brilliant job helping you & still concentrating on her schooling, hopefully they'll take all of this into account & let her carry on without a resit
xx
Thanks so much both of you.
I hope they'll allow it. She e-mailed her teacher this morning and he thought it'd be fine but the school has to agree. There's time set aside next week for them to go in and discuss it but she's away next week. I'll have to find out if they'll let me go instead. The school know the situation as I went to her last parents evening totally bald to make sure they did. She had only told 1 teacher. If she'd told them earlier, she might have got more help. Typical teenager!
She's been told she has to work extra hard next year as there won't be any excuses. Her dad has threatened to take her to work with him. That should be enough to frighten her into getting her head down ha ha.
We are in Scotland Moomy. The school in Glasgow is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland I think. You have to pretty special to get in there so respect to your son. I don't think daughter will be going there. She wants to go to one of the Unis in Edinburgh. Here's hoping she makes it.
