I use the Boots  Botanics fragrance free base oil, and add the Botanics 100% Lavender oil to suit my own depth of smell.  I put loads on when I come out of the bath, and by the time I go to bed I am so laid back, I am almost horizontal.  What they call "Chilled to the bone". LOL

Thanks Chris,i'll get some & give it a go,i've tried all manner off different things to try & get a good nights sleep but nothing seems to work,i even tried the baby bedtime bubble bath, all that did was make me itch, avon linen spray, didn't like the smell, lavender & chamomile plug in,Vince said where has the cat weed in here!! so that had to go,milky drink, indigestion, relaxation cd 7 mp3 player, lovely soothing voice on both, went to sleep then woke up when they stopped talking,i even put a film on one night that sends me to sleep when it's on downstairs & i saw the flipping thing all the way through!!

Well that sounds a bit woe is me but it's not meant to,guess i'm just destined not to sleep all night

    xx

  • When I was really struggling, son bought me a lavender spray for pillow and sheets at the top of the bed, it and radio 4 's shipping forecast helped! Sometimes I beat the shipping forecast and fall asleep to 'today in parliament'!!! Anything is worth trying......

I know the feeling, and the more you try to sleep the less likely it is going to happen.

I find the oil is very calming, even the process of applying it, and the heat of my body has me sitting in a lavender haze.  The side effect leaves your skin so lovely and soft.  I recently had a facial and shoulder massage on a spa treat day.  The girl who did my treatment was very complimentary about my skin.

Hope this suits your skin and it helps you to relax.

    Moomy,

You really did make me laugh when I read your reply.

Beats counting sheep any day.  I think I will keep remembering your words in the days to come and keep giving a little titter to myself.

    love and hugs my friend

Oh Moomy, you do make me smile & the shipping forecast was a real lol moment

It sounds like lavender may well be the way to go,i'll get him indoors to nip me to town tomorrow when i leave work,i get so annoyed when i think i've been asleep all night only to find it's bee 2 flipping hours, then i need a wee & bt the time i get back in bed i'm wide awake & he's snoring like a drain,i have been known to get up & have a cuppa & a read of my book & on a particularly bad night i did a wash load & some ironing, such a pity body shop don't do lavender as i love there shower/bath stuff & body butters

    Love & hugs to all

  • Fastnet, German bight, Dogger! Feeling sleepy yet? I haven't slept well for several years. I bought a Yankee candle lavender melt the other day. It smells like furniture polish and bad loo cleaner all rolled into as nasty smell.... Yurgh! That's in the bib! Pure lavender oil is lovely. A cuppa in the wee small hours works well. Anyone seen the biscuits? X
