Morning, have a lovely day at the wedding, looks like the sun might shine this afternoon!

Good morning Christine hope you are well.

Question for those with boys, is there a biological reason they can't replace toilet roll or refill the soap dispenser? Just wondered.

have a good day all xx

You have to be careful what you say for fear of being sexist but it is a fact that their brains work differently. They do have other uses though xxx

That's true, maybe it's a teenage thing too, perhaps girls would be the same? xx

I used to think it was a boy thing. But having had my daughter in law living here for 18 months I think it's both!

mind you they managed to change the loo roll, but there would be a big pile of cardboard tubes left on the floor(in their ensuite so I just left them to it!).

Yes really it is a "if someone else will do it let them" thing and also a " it's not really important" thing.

i now have my daughter and partner a 20 yr old 3 year old and 1 yr old Staying with me. Nobody picks up anything if I am there! Don't  even mention Loo rolls they could take out shares!

Still they are good to me in other ways xx

Just home from work & find out that not only did i miss somebody making a brew but i'd left befor the yummy breakfast arrived

Teenagers are a strange breed, especially the very clever ones (they have all the brains & no common sense) i think they loose the ability to do anything manual when they go to secondary school mind you some of them never get it back as where i work nobody can put a new toilet roll on,refill the empty stand the spares are kept on,fill the soap dispenser or empty a bin

Him indoors is cooking tea (or dinner if you're posh) so i'm off for a nice long soak

Jakki i've been meaning to ask for ages is that you jumping into the water

    xx

  • My, I can see I've been away from here too long......

cake plates/stands, definitely check out charity shops, Carol, I've seen a few here abouts! And my choice for feeds? A variety of sandwiches, I've found if you make them long in advance cucumber can get soggy, though they are gorgeous. Try cream cheese and smoked salmon if you can get a small amount of offcuts it doesn't work out too expensive, egg mayo, tuna mayo, ham.....cakes, try anything that you can make in advance and wont go stale, flapjacks, and iced cup cakes......

Jakki, I'm so glad the Clarytin worked!

As for changing loo rolls, I suspect you have to wait till they've lived independently for a while and have had to do it for themselves! And laziness does have a part to play, too!

Will be thinking of you on Wednesday, Gillian, hope all goes well....and hope the wedding as wonderful, do you all cry at weddings, folks? I do, it can be embarrassing!

    hugs to you all xxx

I'm soaked, moisturised, fed & listening to the lovely sound of somebody else washing up,my idea of saturday night bliss

I too am a wedding crier & i also wept at the christening last sunday,no idea where they came from but it was very embarrassing

Him indoors is now looking what you should buy for the love of your life on your anniversary (yes i am a bit soppy tonight) & he informs me that next year we have to kill an elephant as it's ivory

Hope you had a lovely day Gillian

Well Moomy him indoors has been in the charity shops today & has come home with 3 beautiful stands to display the cakes on at my strawberry tea,i have so many ideas buzzing round now that i need to get them all down on paper & get my neighbour round to see what she thinks,we usually watch Jeremy Kyle with our coffee but i think monday we may be too busy talking

Evening all, I love a good soak and moisturise Carol and somebody else washing up-the icing on the cake. Yes it is me jumping in the water, we went to Egypt last year a joint 40th (me) and 50th (my cousin) it was such a fab holiday and that picture reminds me of the fab snorkelling.

Did you enjoy the wedding Gillian, what did you wear?

Spent ages with hubby trying on wetsuits today but was well worth it as we enjoyed a lovely lunch out.

Had a sunny walk with all my boys this afternoon then played pop up pirate on Skype with my nephews, a great day.

Hot chocolate in the flask if anyone wants, there are some mini marshmallows on the table xxx

  • Lying in bed resting me poor ol' feet (but sipping a hot chocolate, thank you Carol) after a day on them. Met two lovely 90-plus year old veterans at Bletchley Park today, bright as buttons, fit and active (almost put me to shame!) and was honoured to shake hands and thank them for what they had done during the war. My group that I was talking to gave them a round of applause too, on my bidding!

Tired plus......got to finish the cleaning tomorrow and then feed and water the returning lass and ensure a quiet darkened room for the jet lag......

    hugs to you all xxx
