Hello everyone,
the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx
Tea and cake it is girls, you are leading my mind astray! Where it goes, the rest of me isn't usually far behind! Another cuppa anyone? Not Carols fortnight tea!
Moomy, it was the Roadshow, not the Road Trip! So Paul Laidlaw wasn't in it! But I might look that up on iPlayer.
Im with you Moomy on the state of the NHS, I've worked for it most of my life, and watched the overgrowth of overpaid management, and the whittling down of nursing staff who are expected to achieve u reachable goals with less resources! Barking mad! Hats off to 'em for a mostly good humoured and excellent service in the face of mounting odds! I've retired now, I did whistle blow a couple of times, not a very good career move! I'll slurp my tea and doze up the corner! X
Mary, I too worked in the NHS, when I first started my boss reported directly to the hospital manager, by the time I left I had lost count of the layers of jobs between those two posts!
Ah, the Roadshow....yes it was the Road Trip I was on briefly. Not sure you'll get it on iplayer, might be on YouTube though. It was a good few years back, I was only beginning to use the bombe machine then, think I had just qualified. The person interviewed then was our lovely John Jackson, my hubs was in the background ensuring everything was safe.

Well, how very rude Mary, there's nothing wrong with my tea i'll have you know,if i didn't like you all so much i'd almost take offence
I've just put some bars of chocolate in the fridge, only small bars but there's a good selection so should be something for everybody,we will soon have a constant supply of whatever sweet you want as we have a massive sweet shop opening near us,can't remember what it's called but there's one at stoke & they sell everything,i'll let you know when it opens & you can put your order in
Nice easy tea tonight then bath, feet up with a cuppa for a bit of peace & quiet, him indoors is off out with his friend tonight, bliss,me,the cat & a bar of chocolate

Carol, you really mean just you, the cat, the bar of chocolate and the TV remote control! Please don't take a fence, lol! Mini choccy bars sound lovely.....
Have a lovely peaceful evening.....

Hugs to you all xxx
Moomy
At the moment it's touched by an angel, like you NCIS will be on later
I'll leave your tea to brew a bit longer Mary, just poured my gnats wee, hate strong tea,it sticks to the roof of your mouth when you have it black
I had fishfinger sandwich & him indoors had fishfingers & baked beans,i've now got a cuppa & the biscuit tin, chocolate is hidden till him indoors has gone
I've put a trifle in the fridge, hope everybody likes the fruit i put in,we had oranges, apples, banana & strawberries kicking about so that's what went in & there's a tub of that ambrosia devon dream if anybody wants some & i actually mace proper custard for a change
xx
I need a bit of help, next month i'm doing a strawberry tea for breast cancer care & i want to do a proper afternoon tea, does anybody know where i can get 2 tier cardboad cake stands from & if you were going what sandwiches & cakes would you like to have
xx
I love scones, and lemon drizzle cake, oh and coffee cake. The cafe where my son works in Lakeland does a lovely courgette and lime cake. I could go on for ever.....
Sandwiches, I'd include some vegetarian, egg mayo? Plus maybe Tuna and cucumber? Ham salad? Cheese and tomato? Probably best to keep it simple if you are doing them in quantity.
i googled cardboard cake stands, amazon seem to sell quite a lot and prices not extortionate.
