  • Hello, Donna, I suspect that Juls is buried under a mountain of work! I will holler if she hasn't emerged for a bit of fun soon, but hesitate to yet as I think she's just got to catch up!

Your joint status sounds so like Tony's, up one day, down the next....I tell him that he's an orthopaedic nightmare! Bless you both, maybe you're similar!? He is at last up to pottering about a bit more but if he's good, then we wait for the next down day! And it's usually not long in coming! love, your lonely twin sissy ( with Juls, the other trouble-maker!)

  • Just returned from a trip to Bletchley Park, the place should be far more famous, it is the home of 'Enigma', 'Ultra', 'The Bombe', and most important of all, the first programmeable computer, 'Colossus'......I have been before, and it's suffering from lack of investment in the now fragile WW2 buildings and hiuts where people spent years, clad in secrecy! Churchill dubbed the place ' the golden goose which laid eggs but never cackled!

This time I learnt that Ian Fleming based James Bond on his experiences there and where else he worked, named a bit of equipment after 'Ultra' in From Russia with Love, but couldn't actually give it the proper title as it was still top secret, and he even based 'M' on his war-time boss!

I can recommend a visit there to anyone who is interested in computers, and also recent history!

I also am awaiting a message from Juls fairly urgently. Hope she can get access to this site!!! .......Charles
  • Hello, Donna and Charles, I just rang Juls' home number, and found myself speaking to Gemma, Juls and Richard shot off to Gibraltar on their own for a bit of sailing, for a few days! Gemma said that Richard is beginning to recover a bit from the tiredness now, and they just needed a while away on their own for a bit! They'll be back very late tomorrow, and she might be back on here by Sunday or Monday.....
